They weren't far wrong!
Reviewed 10 hours ago

As we stepped off of the seaplane upon arrival at JA Manafaru, to be met by Vlad, the General Manager and a selection of his staff, he welcomed us with the words 'welcome to paradise' and by the end of 13 days, he wasn't far wrong! The resort is the whole island and genuinely we were continually surprised at how few people we saw, despite it being over 90% occupied. Our room was a sunrise water villa, perfectly equipped and incredibly private, we had our own small pool and steps leading down into the sea where we could swim or go snorkeling.
The choice of food was excellent, with different restaurants having different themes and styles, with special evenings at regular intervals. Our half board deal suited us perfectly, with a really impressive buffet breakfast and a filling three course meal in the evening, although plenty of lunch options if needed.
Like many other reviews, the abiding memory will be of the staff and their natural friendliness, helpfulness and a willingness to go that extra step to make our stay all that we were looking for. We couldn't fault Imran, our experience host and Kamrul, our villa attendant, was excellent and his artistry in making a range of animals with the towels was great. We talked to a lot of staff about their life on the island and got the impression that they really appreciate the 'family' atmosphere and the facilities afforded to them in terms of their masterchef competitions, their sporting opportunities etc and this reflects in the happy staff that then interact with guests....you reap what you sow!
I read lots of reviews about prices and value for money, but at the end of the day, the reason that JA Manafaru can provide the quality of service it does, with the impressive staff/guest ratio that it has, is by pricing at the level it does and we reap the benefits.
We made full use of the spa, fishing trips, scooterised snorkeling and always felt that we were being treated as 'special', which is all you can ask for.
So thank you Vlad and your 'team' for a wonderful stay.

Paradise

This hotel has to be the best hotel in Maldives. Food is exquisite, and the variety is vast. you have your own personal host who is the truly the most helpful person (its as if you have a butler on call), in particular ours zaanir was truly exceptional. The overwater villas are a perfect large size and very peaceful - very well looked after and maintained and stunning decor. The staff are all very helpful kind and sweet. If you want to feel a true 5* service in Maldives this is the hotel to go to. We have been to the Maldives before and other hotels do not even compare. Thank you - we will be back.

Our Trip to Paradise

the JA Manafaru was truly a paradise! This was our third visit to the Maldives but first to JA and we will never stay anywhere else. Great customer service in all aspects of our stay. Our Experience Host - Mohamed Ajwad - was unbelievable and anticipated our every need and want. The GM - Vlad Reyes - is one of the best in the hotel business and he understands what a first class experience should entail. We will definitely be back to Paradise!

Amazing hotel and incredible staff

We had an amazing stay at the JA Manafaru, the location is stunning, the sunset villa was great and the level of service and staff are incredible. The team are easily the best I have ever encountered at a hotel, they genuinely go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay; from the questions before I booked, the meeting you off the seaplane, checking you in in your room and generally looking to accommodate any request.

I read so many great reviews for the hotel that I started to feel it wouldn’t be able to live up to my expectations but they still managed to exceed them.

After a lot of consideration we decided to just stay on a Bed & Breakfast basis and this definitely worked out cheaper for us than all inclusive, the breakfasts are so good we never really needed lunch so with a few drinks in the afternoon and a bottle of wine at dinner it worked out much better.

The main thing I would pick out for improvement would be the Spa, the massage was really nice but a $130 for only 50 minutes I don’t think it’s great value and had it been a bit longer or a little cheaper we would have used much more.

The last thing I wanted to mention was the seaplane transfer, my advice would be try to plan your flights so you don’t have to wait ages for the transfer. For anyway who might be put off by this, I really don’t like flying and was pretty nervous about this but it was so smooth on the way there and actually a great experience, on the way back we did fly through a storm cloud which caused some very strong turbulence which wasn’t great but it only lasted a few minutes. Overall the extra travel is worth it to get to the Island and I definitely plan on going back!
