Surrounded by turquoise waters, the Dusit Thani in the stunning Baa Atoll is encircled by uninhabited islands, coral reefs and jaw-dropping marine life. Once on dry land you’ll find spacious villas decked out in white and blue to reflect the ocean, rustic wood pathways that cut through lush jungle, and the largest infinity pool in the Maldives. With villas dotted around the edge of the island and buildings nestled in the tree tops, the whole resort has a Robinson Crusoe feel, which is enhanced by secluded beaches. Meanwhile, in the guestrooms, Thai touches like artwork and silks add a hint of the Far East to this tropical idyll.
Bed and Bath
Most villas come with their own plunge pool (except the Beach Villa), outdoor shower, free WiFi, Apple Mac Mini with free movies, in-room bar, Nespresso machine and Molton Brown goodies in the bathrooms. The decor is upmarket beach-chic, with white linens, wood flooring, vaulted ceilings and natural details throughout. Once you’ve unpacked your bags, put on your swimsuit and started lounging by your own pool, reality seems deliciously far away.
With sealife on the doorstep, expect fresh fishy feasts on the menu at the resort’s restaurants. Choose from the signature Thai eatery Benjarong, which juts over the ocean and serves authentically spicy dishes like roast duck curry; the poolside Sea Grill for grilled seafood and sushi; the aptly named Sand Bar (the floor is covered in sand) for games and drinks; and the Market for breakfast and themed dinners (don’t miss the Maldivian set menu). There’s also a tennis court, gym and water sports center for kayaking, diving and snorkeling, and the sublime spa is nestled in a grove of coconut trees; indulge in a massage with a view in one of the six tree-top treatment pods.
In the Area
Situated 35 minutes from Malé by seaplane, the Dusit Thani takes over the whole island, but you can visit neighboring islands for snorkelling and diving trips. On landing in Malé, you’ll be whisked to a VIP lounge for refreshments and magazines to await your seaplane shuttle. The hotel offers excursions to Hanifaru Huraa, a nearby UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve renowned as a feeding ground for manta rays and whale sharks.
How to Get There
All the staffs is so kind and super nice. Food is great especially Thai food at Benjarong Restaurant and the the resprt is superb for snorkeling. We were having a wonderful time during our stay and surely will be going back again.
Service is well，food is well and everyting is well.I liked the beach and sea, found many differents fishes and animals. The whole journey was very comfortable。Every workman is very polite.I think I will come back in the future
Me and my wife went there for our honeymoon, we arrived a day earlier and stayed in the city of Malé.
The airline delayed our bags a day, and some unfortunate events happened, we missed our seaplane.
The amazing stuff of dusit changed our ticket, we arrived there we were welcomed by the staff and our amazing butler Abdul.
The hotel is amazing food is perfect, we were on the pure indulgence package( all inclusive)
Everyday we dined in a different place on alacarte menu.
The Benjarong, the sea grill .. are way better than Michelin stars rated restaurants.
In the breakfast we ate at the market , Alex the manager there made is very nice and his hospitality skills were beyond amazing, he made sure to get us the cold cuts away from the buffet, as we are Muslims and the them being beside the pork, were really disgusting to us, so he made sure to bring them to our table.
We stayed at the ocean villa, quite spacious very amazingly decorated and the private pool was amazing.
The snorkeling there is quite amazing.
All the staff was very welcoming and quite cute
All the hostesses, waiter and chefs are quite amazing.
Special thanks to Alex the market manager and our beloved butler Abdul.
Totally recommend it for everyone.
I spent with my wife 3 nights during our honeymoon
it was amazing .
Everything was excellent, I cannot describe how amazing it was .
The hotel , the rooms , all facilities, the food , the staff and even the GM were more than excellent.
Special and big thanks to mario who make everything even better , he is one of the most professional staff i have ever met and helped us in everything there .
Thanks dusit .
The hotel is in a besutifully-landscaped island in Bas atoll. All the rooms sre great, including the less expensive obes. We took advantage of a mid-year promotion, vslue for money was great, and got a free uograde in one of the rooms. Our butler, Muhey, was great, as was the redt of the staff. Food us excelkent considering the remote location. Breakfast, realky good and dinner was also very good in all the different restaurants, a bit too exoensive in the Narket restaurant, where we went for a grill night and ended up oaying 100 USD a person for a dinner that was not di great (my wife had a salad and a piece of meat). Sports activities were fine (we did not tske sny dcuba diving trips), a bit overpriced as well. In comparision, hoyse reef is great and free, maybe the turtles snorkellibg we coukd have skipoed, ascthe reef where they arr is also badly bleached. But, all in all, a great resoet, worth going
