What We Love
- The all-inclusive rate includes all meals, alcohol and soft drinks, use of snorkeling equipment, non-motorized water sports, one dhoni boat excursion per stay, and movies on-demand
- The Robinson Crusoe–like feel of the resort
- The house reef just off the resort’s talcum powder beach
- The on-site dive center and access to some of the world’s top diving sites
- The spa, with eight suites that open up to the warm winds of the lagoon

In the South Ari Atoll, one of the world’s top dive spots, Constance Moofushi is as much a mecca for aspiring Jacque Cousteau types as it is for lovebirds seeking a Robinson Crusoe–esque escape. But you can forget making like a castaway: this is island living in serious style. Slow your pace by luxuriating in the comfort of the resort’s 110 rustic-elegant bungalows, or dine on fresh fish with your feet in the white sand or on a terrace hovering above the crystal clear lagoon. Guests have a choice of thatch-roofed Beach Villas, each with its own private terrace (complete with swaying hammock), or stilted Water Villas, with stairways that descend directly into the Indian Ocean. All villas combine rattan and bamboo furnishings, stripped wood, and rough-hewn stone with such creature comforts as air conditioning and flat-screen televisions. The resort is all-inclusive, which means that buffet meals at the sandy-floored Manta restaurant, sunset cocktails at either of the two casual, feet-in-sand bars and other extras, such as one 90-minute boat excursion per person, per stay, are included. Take a break from the buffet at Manta for dinner at Alizee Beach Grill, where just-caught fish is cooked on a charcoal grill, or have the culinary team set up a beach barbecue for a romantic dinner under the stars. Treatments at the Spa de Constance, an indulgent overwater wellness retreat with eight treatment rooms and a dedicated yoga pavilion, are extra, but they’re well worth the splurge.
In the Area
The on-site dive center has PADI certificate courses for beginners as well as specialist shark and manta ray dive courses, and divers will love the easy access to more than 30 dive sites — including Maamigili Beru, stomping ground for whale sharks, and Hukuru Elhi Faru, known as Manta Point. Come nightfall, organized night fishing expeditions will have you hauling in snapper, tuna and grouper using hand lines; while during the day masks, snorkels and fins are free to guests. The resort provides three different recommended snorkel routes, including one ideal for beginners. Back on dry land you can play a game of chess or watch a movie in the entertainment lounge, wallpapered in Bollywood movie posters.
How to Get There
We have just returned from a week at Constance Moofushi which has to go down as the best holiday venue we have ever experienced. The beauty of the Maldives is well documented so there's no point in describing the setting except to say that if you imagine the perfect remote Indian Ocean island you won't be far off. But the most striking feature of the Moofushi experience is the level of service. It's amazing - and yet somehow remains unobtrusive. The staff are uniformly engaging, happy and motivated to please and they seem to have a 6th sense as to what is going through a guest's mind. If you are wondering about having another glass of champagne then one will quietly appear, leaving you to ponder whether you actually ever got round to asking for it! Yet if you prefer some solitude that will also be respected. The all-inclusive nature of the package adds to the sense of relaxation. Food is excellent, plentiful and wide-ranging. Drinks are all premium brands. The accommodation is stylish and extremely comfortable...we had a water villa with steps leading down into the sea. It's the sort of place that injects calm into your veins so you can either relax entirely and do nothing or take up any of a wide range of boat trips, snorkelling adventures or diving adventures. There is a luxurious spa, a well-equipped gym, a boutique shop for replenishing supplies of suncream and swimwear and everywhere you look is a photograph just waiting to be taken. But for all of the natural beauty that surrounds you it is the staff who make the biggest impression. Special mention to the charming Das who's construction of a Singapore Sling cocktail was flawless and the engaging Rifkhan who made every visit to the restaurant a special experience. I'm afraid mere words cannot do this place full justice. You just have to visit because it sets a new benchmark for a vacation experience. We can't wait to return.
After our first week im really looking forward to the second. We have seen tutles, sharks, reef fish and today we had this visitor. It is truly stunning here. You will not be disappointed if you choose to visit.
Just returned from 9 nights at Constance Moofushi with my wife staying in one of the water villas. What an utterly fabulous time we had. From the moment we landed and walked through to Arrivals with our luggage in Male Airport we were taken care off by the team at Constance who took us to their VIP lounge and got us on the right Sea Plane ( there were dozens to choose from lol). Arriving at the island by plane was everything we hoped it would be - breathtakingly beautiful. On arrival and over the next 9 nights we experienced levels of customer care that were simply wonderful. Henri and his team cannot do enough for you and everything was done with a smile. The phrase ‘bare foot chic’ sums the resort up perfectly - restaurants are all sand floors - It is an All-Inclusive resort but the quality of the food and selection offered each meal by Sven and the team was beautiful. The Alyzee dining experience (regular restaurant option) was also stunning. The Bar staff were great coming up with great cocktails (all premium brand drinks - Grey Goose and 14yr old MaCallan played a large part in our selections. My wife had an issue with some severe toothache one day but the on-site doctor sorted everything and was very attentive. Although I didn’t dive on this trip we spoke to many guests who did and they were raving about their trips. We saw Turtles and Manta Rays on the house reef just snorkelling from the beach and did take a boat excursion to a couple of reefs which was stunning. The Water Villas were wonderful and walking down your stairs from your deck straight into the warm ocean was truly an experience. I could mention individual staff members who we really enjoyed interacting with but there were too many for this post. This was the most relaxing holiday We have ever had ...by a mile! All I can say about Moofushi is, if you have the budget then do not hesitate to book, you won’t be disappointed! We will be back next year for sure.
After extensive research and shortlisting 30 places we finally decided on Constance moofushi. We absolutely loved our honeymoon here stayed for 4 days. Our over water villa was beautiful and the price for being all inclusive was not bad at all! You can’t beat Maldives sand and crystal clear water it’s stunning. We were so tired after our wedding so only did a bit of snorkelling and paddle boarding and sunset fishing but which we had more time and energy to do other activities offered, you can swim with manta rays and whale sharks etc. We did wine tasting in the ocean which was fun. Food was decent with different themes every night. The outdoor bath and shower was a nice touch. As was the unlimited mini bar with haribos! The only extra we would have liked is a private infinity pool but I guess that’s why price is cheaper than other places. Try get a place at the end of the jetty if you can, longer walk to main restaurant but more private. Be aware the seaplane has great views but is expensive from Male to here. We went in July which is considered monsoon but we were lucky and had good weather most of the time.
From the moment you arrive and are welcomed by the friendly staff you quickly feel relaxed.
My wife and I stayed for 9 wonderful nights in a senior water villa which we highly recommend.
All the staff are trained well to ensure service levels are high and genuinely attentive and interested in making your stay special. Our personal thank yous to Henri, Sven, Das, Revaal, Musaid, DJ Dylan, Raabe, Ramu, Shamil, Kim, & Fishal.
Food selection was excellent and all drinks are premium brands and as for the spa - wow ! The view from your bed - we won’t spoil it
We will return!
