In the South Ari Atoll, one of the world’s top dive spots, Constance Moofushi is as much a mecca for aspiring Jacque Cousteau types as it is for lovebirds seeking a Robinson Crusoe–esque escape. But you can forget making like a castaway: this is island living in serious style. Slow your pace by luxuriating in the comfort of the resort’s 110 rustic-elegant bungalows, or dine on fresh fish with your feet in the white sand or on a terrace hovering above the crystal clear lagoon. Guests have a choice of thatch-roofed Beach Villas, each with its own private terrace (complete with swaying hammock), or stilted Water Villas, with stairways that descend directly into the Indian Ocean. All villas combine rattan and bamboo furnishings, stripped wood, and rough-hewn stone with such creature comforts as air conditioning and flat-screen televisions. The resort is all-inclusive, which means that buffet meals at the sandy-floored Manta restaurant, sunset cocktails at either of the two casual, feet-in-sand bars and other extras, such as one 90-minute boat excursion per person, per stay, are included. Take a break from the buffet at Manta for dinner at Alizee Beach Grill, where just-caught fish is cooked on a charcoal grill, or have the culinary team set up a beach barbecue for a romantic dinner under the stars. Treatments at the Spa de Constance, an indulgent overwater wellness retreat with eight treatment rooms and a dedicated yoga pavilion, are extra, but they’re well worth the splurge.
In the Area
The on-site dive center has PADI certificate courses for beginners as well as specialist shark and manta ray dive courses, and divers will love the easy access to more than 30 dive sites — including Maamigili Beru, stomping ground for whale sharks, and Hukuru Elhi Faru, known as Manta Point. Come nightfall, organized night fishing expeditions will have you hauling in snapper, tuna and grouper using hand lines; while during the day masks, snorkels and fins are free to guests. The resort provides three different recommended snorkel routes, including one ideal for beginners. Back on dry land you can play a game of chess or watch a movie in the entertainment lounge, wallpapered in Bollywood movie posters.
How to Get There
Stayed here for 3 nights and love how hospitable how each and every single one of the staff is . Thanks to Sasha and team for this experience . Had an amazing and insightful experience during the back of house tour . I don’t get this experience in other resorts it was refreshing for me . This is the 3rd resort I have stayed and the food here is prefect ! Staff pay attention to fine details and are always on hand to assist . Would definitely recommend . Only issue was that it was constantly high tide so we didn’t get to see the corals much from the top of our villa . Other than that , great place .
Me and my husband visited this resort at the beginning of June. After difficult year we have been through we needed relaxing hideaway to "recharg" our batteries. We choose for this constance resort because we already had good experience with constance resort in Seychelles. What I like about constance resorts is their commitment to ecology. And I have to say it was a good choice. We booked a ocen villa, but it was a little bit noisy because of landing seaplanes so we asked for an exchange for more quiet one. We received senior water villa and it was like waw effect. Very nice, with all those small details and nice view. And also very imtimate and quiet with nice lagoon. There are many breathtaking resorts in Maledives, but what makes this resort very special are people. From our nice houskeeper to general manager. People were always very nice, friendly, attentive and trying to make all our wishes happen. I liked that members of management were "visible", always there for the guest ensuring that we are fine. In this resort they have marine biologist Jasmine and it was also one thing why we choose this resort. We used opportunity to go snorchelling with Jasmine and it was amazing experience. Like swimming in the big aquarium with millions of colorful fishes. I liked also marine life conservation approach with planting new corals. We booked also cooking class with Ruwan and cooked so delisous maldivian prawn curry with tunna roshi. It was really fun and I recommend everyone to take cooking class. After cooking our food, nicely decorated table was waiting for us and we had romantic lunch with my husband. We had also 90 minute whole body couple massage in the Uspa. It was another amazing experience. There was a bottom glass, so we were watching corals and fishes in the ocean while having a massage. After massage complimentary lemongrass body oil was waiting us in the villa. Wine tasting in the water during sunrise was another unforgettable experience. We enjoyed it very much. And last and not least, fantastic dinner in the a la cart retaurant Alizee. Make sure you do not missed that. If you are wine lover, make sure you use the advices of someliers in the resort as much as possible. You can taste a lot of deliscous and interesting wines in the resort. We got our relaxing vacation we hoped for and even more. We took home a lot of positive energy, nice memories and emotions. I hope we will have opportunity to come back to this resport in the near future.
Constance Moofushi is a beautiful resort, all the staff are so friendly nothing is any bother at all. The rooms were beautiful and the views are something you just have to see.
The food choices in the restaurants were always amazing and tasted so good, drinks in the bars were equally as good as was the vast choices available.
Its the perfect place to go for a romantic getaway and is a true paradise. We will certainly be returning as soon as possible!!!
We have been fortunate to have travelled many times to the Maldives, trying lots of different islands but 3 years ago, we chose Constance Moofushi for our two week honeymoon and fell even more in love with the Maldives, it was so beautiful and the staff were incredible, that we decided to go back to the same island for 10 days - the first time we've even gone back to the same place, and we were definitely not disappointed!
The island setting is just stunning, wherever you look, the waters are crystal clear and the staff keep the island impeccable at all times. The whole team of staff from when you step off the sea place are amazing and they can't do enough for you - it's not a big island, but it feels like you're part of a big family :-)
We stayed again in a senior water villa, which is stunning, with a large sun deck, glorious views and only a few steps down into the crystal clear waters to swim or snorkel - and its lovely when you're sat on the deck and a turtle swims underneath you....
The food - what can I say, to keep a buffet interesting for longer stays is pretty hard to do, but the food is fabulous - the chefs are always asking for feedback and ensuring that everything is fresh and looks and tastes amazing. To go with this, the sommelier service is one of the reasons why we wanted to come back - going for dinner is one of our holiday highlights and being able to discuss and select wines and have that personal service is great. Please don't stop this Constance Moofushi!
In addition to this, the Totem Bar serves great lunchtime food and drinks and provides a great alternative to the buffet, in another idyllic setting.
We decided to do another movie night under the stars, a big screen set up on the beach - something we did last time and didn't think that we needed to repeat - but once again, the whole experience is something I will always remember - which popcorn, ice cream, drinks of your choice and laying in bean bags on the beach under the stars - I would definitely recommend doing this.
Finally, thank you Constance Moofushi - Henri and the team made sure we didn't regret our choice to return and I'm hoping that we will do so again in the future!
What an amazing place we were treated so well from the minute we stepped on to the island the food is amazing and all the staff will never forget this amazing place holds a special place in our hearts first class
