- The Robinson Crusoe–like feel of the resort
- The house reef just off the resort’s talcum powder beach

- The spa, with eight suites that open up to the warm winds of the lagoon

In the South Ari Atoll, one of the world’s top dive spots, Constance Moofushi is as much a mecca for aspiring Jacque Cousteau types as it is for lovebirds seeking a Robinson Crusoe–esque escape. But you can forget making like a castaway: this is island living in serious style. Slow your pace by luxuriating in the comfort of the resort’s 110 rustic-elegant bungalows, or dine on fresh fish with your feet in the white sand or on a terrace hovering above the crystal clear lagoon. Guests have a choice of thatch-roofed Beach Villas, each with its own private terrace (complete with swaying hammock), or stilted Water Villas, with stairways that descend directly into the Indian Ocean. All villas combine rattan and bamboo furnishings, stripped wood, and rough-hewn stone with such creature comforts as air conditioning and flat-screen televisions. The resort is all-inclusive, which means that buffet meals at the sandy-floored Manta restaurant, sunset cocktails at either of the two casual, feet-in-sand bars and other extras, such as one 90-minute boat excursion per person, per stay, are included. Take a break from the buffet at Manta for dinner at Alizee Beach Grill, where just-caught fish is cooked on a charcoal grill, or have the culinary team set up a beach barbecue for a romantic dinner under the stars. Treatments at the Spa de Constance, an indulgent overwater wellness retreat with eight treatment rooms and a dedicated yoga pavilion, are extra, but they’re well worth the splurge.
In the Area
The on-site dive center has PADI certificate courses for beginners as well as specialist shark and manta ray dive courses, and divers will love the easy access to more than 30 dive sites — including Maamigili Beru, stomping ground for whale sharks, and Hukuru Elhi Faru, known as Manta Point. Come nightfall, organized night fishing expeditions will have you hauling in snapper, tuna and grouper using hand lines; while during the day masks, snorkels and fins are free to guests. The resort provides three different recommended snorkel routes, including one ideal for beginners. Back on dry land you can play a game of chess or watch a movie in the entertainment lounge, wallpapered in Bollywood movie posters.
How to Get There
To begin with, I do not write reviews. But this resort forced me to write a review because I felt I should write it since I owe it to the extraordinary treatment and experience that this resort offered.
My wife decide to go to this resort due to recommendations from the travel agent. I did not look into it till after we booked and paid for the all inclusive trip. When I saw it I checked reviews and all were saying its a very nice resort but from pictures I could not see exactly what makes it so nice that all are talking about it. I was really sceptical and worried for its not the average cheap resort that you book.
We reached there and from the first hour I was able to feel the difference and the value of this resort. Although you are with other travellers, you feel the personalized treatment in there. My wife needs special accommodations and they made sure they provided it even though it was not easy to full fill. Honestly, I felt I own the resort. Anything you asked for even if it is little, the staff will go out of their way to accommodate you.
The beach is vast, its an island and you feel you own the beach. The all inclusive was nice, you get an excursion and snorkel equipment to check the coral around the island. The rooms are amazing and the food was delicious. I can truly say it is a five star resort in every way.
We come from Canada and been to the Caribbean many times and to many countries around the world. This trip to get there was very far but well worth it and this resort tops all other five star resorts we been to.
Thanks to Sacha the general manager and to Ron the manager for the amazing experience and memorable 20th anniversary that they made us experience. We will be back for sure.
You have to visit this resort!!
The staff are amazing, excellent service, fantastic food and a huge choice of premium brands, impressive wine list. The resort is eco friendly and has the best diving centre in the Maldives.
Nothing is to much trouble here, dietary needs are met with a friendly approach. There are various excursions for snorkeling, sunsets and watching dolphins. I have visited several times and can say if you want all the above with friendly staff and a personal service visit moofushi.
This was a wonderful venue for all ages everyone had activities to do sea, sand and relaxation All the staff were very helpful and friendly Two especially Ahmed at the main bar made us amazing moctails according to our whim !andhe enjoyed the Chess challenge The other was Christophe the sommelier he was knowledgeable ,supportive and friendly We really enjoyed wine tasting on the beach . The one negative comment was the smokers Why do they have to smoke on the beach and in front of the main bar ? Surely in their villas is enough ?or maybe a beach for them ? Often we had to move when having our pre dinner drinks and there were 6 of us !
For my first time in Maldives, I wanted to surprise my wife with a Maldivian experience. Once landed on seaplane , you are required to leave your shoes behind and walk bear feet on a white sandy beach. Very warm welcome from management and staff as soon as we arrive.
The concept is very streamlined and back to nature.
No superficial bits just perfect.
The sea activities comes with extra cost but is worth the try, thank you to the Bluetribe for your patience and training. The food is amazing and change every day with new themes. Special kudos for the sommelier team and their great selection of wines all inclusive and made our dinner always an amazing experience . The food and wine pairing lesson was a great and we learned a lots from the very charismatic christof .
Thank you Adams, rifkan , Hassan and all people who makes our stay special by remembering our names everyday. The spa was very good too with always a warm welcome from the team. Stay was too short . We are really looking forward to come back again and sorry for not remembering everybody. Great work for housekeeping for having an attention to detail!
See you soon !
We really loved our visit but not JUST for the obvious reasons (it’s a beautiful place, the weather was good much of the time, it’s well kept and clean and relaxing; as well as the luxurious accommodation and very decent food...) As so many reviewers have said : the staff are special here. I for one wasn’t necessarily expecting a Maldives resort to be so unpretentious and genuine and it was my partner who suggested the location; but this really did feel like a home from home. We totally relaxed. Thank you to Christophe for the wine cellar tour and for adding to our experience by sharing his knowledge with us. Thanks to the whole team for the lovely, warm atmosphere they create between them and their genuine interest in our holiday. We will be back.
