Overview

The Review

From the moment you board the gleaming speedboat that whisks you from Malé’s aircraft carrier–like airport, past the turquoise rings that mark shallow coral reefs and shoals and pods of dolphins leaping in the distance, to the lush, boomerang-shaped island of Bodu Hithi, it’s clear that you’ve arrived. Holiday mode — with cool, scented towels and chilled bottles of water to ameliorate the humid tropical air — starts now.

Coco Bodu Hithi is a relatively new development. Built in 2006 as a high-end haven of luxury and service, there are six excellent restaurants, a water sports center and dive school, and a gorgeous spa — not to mention pristine stretches of white sand, a coral reef teeming with marine life just off the beach, and a glass-walled infinity pool.

The latter, the most recent addition to this already luxe property, comprise a sort of resort-within-a-resort set on its own oval-shaped pier.

Escape guests have access to a whole host of VIP perks, including a 24-hour butler, free buggy service around the island and airy bathrooms with Molton Brown toiletries. A sunset cruise and daily high tea are other benefits. And then there’s the private restaurant and bar, Stars, which serves modern Maldivian cuisine and hand-crafted cocktails.

The resort’s good looks, top-notch amenities and helpful staff are complemented by its proximity to a stunning house reef (around 30 feet away). Because, after all, the real star of the show is nature. Baby blacktip reef sharks cruise the shallows, hermit and ghost crabs roam the beach, and at night the ocean sparkles in myriad silvery shades, a mesmerizing display that makes it hard indeed to leave this amazing resort, tucked away in a discreet corner of the North Malé Atoll.

Not impressed with the hotel
Reviewed 2 days ago

We booked the island villa for 4 days 3 nights and we felt absolutely horrified with both the hotel and the restaurant.
The wi-fi is super slow in the island villa as well as the lobby and the rest of the island. Food are frozen from japanese restaurant and are overpriced. Definitely a 3-4 stars hotel, not a 5. Some staff do give ATTITUDE but some are super nice. Not worth going and In addition, room do not look the same as the picture from the website and air conditioner are like heater.

Yoga Coco Bodhu Hithi
Reviewed 3 days ago

I would like to highly recommend doing yoga classes at Coco Bodhu Hithi. I did 2 sunrise private classes with instructor Zion Godson. I hadn’t done yoga in many years and Zion was so helpful, experienced, friendly and profressional. Hence why at the end I did 2 classes it was definitely worth it and if I could I would have done many more. Zion has inspired me to continue doing yoga classes. Thanks so much! 🧘‍♀️

We stayed at Coco Residences, one of the most luxurious water villas with breathtaking views. We really liked Sta Restaurant, it's beautiful, serneic and with amazing sunset views. At Star, the staff was friendly and excellent. We met Jyoti, Shree, Binoy, they we superb and nice. Jyoti treated us very nicely and she was very polite. She showed us the entire place and she always had a smile on her face. She was excellent in her work and was very friendly. 5stara to Jyoti. She is so sweet and generous.. Binoy and shree were helpful too, they had a smile on their face all the time. Being North Indians we were served Chicken Biryani and they specially cooked that for us. We really had a great time and we enjoyed our stay more on water villas. We met Prema, Sujata, Yasir at Air restaurant, they we're awesome too..
Overall very nice experience and the staff is very friendly...

A holiday i will never forget

we booked a 1 week stay at the Coco Bodu Hithi and it was an amazing experience. The service of the staff was excellent with the language barrier only getting in the way a few times. The activities organised by the hotel for you to do keep your days very occupied. From snorkeling with turtles to jet ski rides. The rooms are well kept and the staff had a great eye for detail for example placing various patterns on the bed spread every day after cleaning. The restaurant was a different theme every night and the food was excellent.
