What a great experience, staff could not do enough for us. Everything we could ask for was catered for and when we enquired about any extras, they were ready to arrange these without delay... spa, fishing, diving, water plains

Amazing truely a great experience

From the minute we got off the plane we were greeted like royalty . We were met by someone at the airport t, transfered by speed boat to the island.we were met by lovely staff and given a cold drink and wet face cloth. We were quite early for our room so we went to lunch at Oceans which was delightful. Loved our room ,right on the beach ,were we could just pop out and have a swim .no 107 . Thai restaurant, very good and Italian restaurant also excellent for both lunch and dinner . Via bar fabulous for afternoon cocktails and music to listen to .wonderful group from Cuba . You don,t need to stay in the over water units ,ours was perfect for swimming ,sand and restaurants. Staff very friendly ,try to tip it's appreciated. Take all you need ,shop is expensive and so is the excursion s . My only gripe was the tours was so expensive so not many used them . If they made them more affordable more people would go on them ..

A week away from the rest of the world

Centara resort delivered everything we had hoped for. we arranged a two week holiday with one week at Centara, sandwitched in the middle. We wanted our holiday this year to be a mix of the hustle and bustle of a city and the complete relaxation of an idilic island and Centara delivered 100%. The staff are all amazing, the food is sensational, the entire island is spotlessly clean but most of all we were made to feel like we were the only couple on the island. When we learned that over 300 staff live in on the island we suddenly realised that there literally was at least one member of staff to every visitor. Sometimes you find out the caliber of a service team when something goes wrong. We had a problem with our room choice being overbooked on arrival but they had given us a free upgrade. when we explained that the upgraded room wouldn't work for us they worked to solve the problem overnight and at breakfast the next day everything was as originally planned. we will 100% look to go back as soon as we can. Thanks to everyone at Centara my wifes new favourite place on the planet.

Had such am amazing time here. The staff were simply the best we had ever experienced. Food was great and plentiful. Views and water was just amazing. Good size rooms. We had one on the beach which was perfect as it meant it was only a short walk to the beach, pool and restaurants. My only suggested improvements were that things like massages, diving and fishing were so incredibly expensive. It seemed crazy to see staff sitting around waiting when if they had better pricing or day by day specials, more people would do more. It was a common comment amongst guests. Aside from that having the inclusion package we had for all food and drinks was definitely the way to go.

As beautiful as it looks

Overall, Centara Ras Fushi is the idyllic paradise it appears to be. This little coral sand island is a tiny dot in the Indian ocean, surrounded by crystal clear water of the most incredible colour. We enjoyed our short stay immensely. By far the greatest asset of this resort is the staff. They are hard working, helpful, welcoming and utterly professional in every way.
The island is well designed in every respect with a choice of accommodation from beach front to over the water villas. I recommend paying the small amount extra to be over the water so you can sleep to the sound of water lapping on your own stairs down to the water. You can sit on the deck and look out onto a vast expanse of ocean and watch little crabs jockey for position on the stairs.
There are four restaurants on the island and three bars, one of them a swim up pool bar. We opted for the drinks package and it was a saving as drinks can add up quickly. It isn't all inclusive though, some cocktails and name brands are not included. You have only one beer option on the package- draught Carslberg which is quite drinkable. It was a highlight for us to be able to lounge by the water being brought cocktails by charming wait staff. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful with astonishing memories - knowing everyone's drink preferences and room numbers then appearing almost magically when your glass is empty.

I can't comment on the actual spa aspects of the island as we didn't use them- too costly for our budget.

We also opted for the all inclusive food package but, again, this isn't all inclusive at the restaurants. You get a $40 dollar voucher each to subsidise choices outside the menu items offered under the package but it doesn't go far. Having said that, it is still best to opt for that package because if you pay as you go, it will rack up fast and there are plenty of options to choose from. If you don't opt for the inclusive food package be prepared to spend big on eating, buffet breakfasts are USD$45 each, by way of example. I have to say that we found the food pretty disappointing. There is plenty of it but most of it is fairly pedestrian in terms of taste, even the Thai restaurant where I had to ask for extra chilli etc. By far the best thing I had was the freshly made omelet for breakfast- it was pretty fabulous but the fact that it was one of the most impressive foods we ate is an indicator. We opted for the on-the-beach Maldivian seafood buffet one night as the preparations were impressive. Not so the food. Bland, overcooked to the point where some just tasted like charcoal and very expensive for what it was (USD$135). The food in general was a great disappointment to us and in sharp contrast to how good the rest of the island is.
The layout of the island is very well planned, making it feel very private even though there were quite a few people there. It is attractive, scrupulously clean and well maintained. There are age restrictions in place for Ras Fushi. Nobody under 12 and even then only one minor per booking. There are plenty of other resorts in the area that do allow children, just not this one. A recommend for burnt out teachers or exhausted parents needing a break :) Everyone there seemed to share our goal of total chill out but there is parasailling if you fancy a bit of a thrill. There are boat trip and dive options available but we found snorkelling on the home reef was enough. Snorkelling gear is available at no extra cost from the dive shop. You will need to demonstrate that you can swim and use the equipment before you can take them but this is a great way to prevent drownings. Ras Fushi has quite a strong current so not recommended for anyone that can only just dog paddle. I'm only an average swimmer but had no difficulties. Lovely big beach towels are provided so you can save a lot of space in your luggage by leaving yours at home.
We had terrific sleep here. A vast and comfortable bed with good pillows and high quality linens. There was no top sheet but the coverlet was fairly light. In the hotter months, a top sheet would be welcome. There can't be any better way to sleep than in a good bed being washed by sea breezes and listening to the waves lapping.
The vibe is very chill with generally ambient music choices (think any Cafe Del Mar album) -the occasional blast of Aussie power ballads was a bit quirky.
Room service is available but I can't comment on it as we preferred to eat at the restaurants. There is a mini bar included in the package which was nice as many other places can gouge you hard on mini bar. Ras Fushi mini bar is very restricted: a daily limit of two coffee sachets (Nescafe) two small beers, four small soft drinks, a mini chocolate bar and small chips. A bottle of wine would have been nice to drink on the deck of our villa but at $50 a bottle, we didn't go there. You can't take drinks from the bar back to your room. That is no biggy though because there are plenty of comfy sun lounges under umbrellas by the water to enjoy and the view is spectacular.
Ras Fushi warrants a five star rating in every respect, except for the food which just doesn't match the standard of the rest of the resort. Thank you to to the staff of Ras Fushi for making our short stay so very enjoyable.
