How to Get There
The peace and serenity of the Maldives is unbeaten. I knew it was going to be an idyllic trip but this trip was a bit of a life changing one for me and my family! You arrive by boat with a warm smile as the staff welcome you with drumming and big, welcoming smiles. From the minute you arrive the staff cater to your every need and nothing is too much for them. My nearly 7 year old son was looked after everywhere he went - on a rainy day we left him in the beach restaurant (we had to take our 6 month old back to the room for a nap) with some other kids he'd met and asked one of the lovely staff to make sure he was ok whilst we were gone. W couldn't drag him away he was having such a great time playing table football with the other kids. I went for a massage on my first day (set in one of the beautiful water villas) and met their visiting Chinese Medicine Doctor (Dr Rui Pedro).
After two back-tearing flights, I experienced the sensation that only the A+ actors and actress, such as Tom Hardy or Meryl Streep, could access to this mean of luxury in Southern Males, the capital city of magnificent Maldives. Anantara resort was a one way ticket to the heaven when not only its interior was worth to a five star or the incredible hospitality of the staffs could only match to angles but the view was astonishing as the ocean surprised me with its magical blue in the dark, the rising of the “egg yolk” in the sky, and the pure breeze mixed into the song of the soul and waves. Indian might influenced the local cuisine, but Maldivians perfected it thanks to its fresh seafood the fishermen collected in the evening. The experience was even more extraordinary as I was flying high with a jetpack and diving to the mysterious depth with a sea bob. Finally, to end this one-way ticket to paradise, we dipped ourselves into the sandy beach and went fishing overnight. I recommended this accommodation for people who demanded to get away from everything. Enjoy your stay and thank you staffs for providing a wonderful holiday.
The water at Anantara Dhigu is amazingly clear, better than we imagined. The overwater bungalow is beautiful. The view from the bathroom is spectacular. I think customer service is lacking a bit. The front desk seemed quite busy and no one really paid attention to you. I will say though that there were plenty of water sports and the water recreation dept made our trip more fun. Adella in particular got guests together for a game of water volleyball that made our day. The guest reception hour was also fun!
We have just got back from a 10 day holiday at Anantara and we have had the best time. The rooms are big and very well decorated. There are loads of activities organised by the hotel (paid and free). All the tours we did with the hotel were great (we have to thank Shakem for his dedication and help). The facilities at the hotel are great. However, most importantly, we would like to thank the staff for being so professional and friendly. Every single staff member helped us have the best holiday. We would like to thank the following staff members individually: Ammaday, Joy, Alix, Adnan, Jen, Julie, Shafi and Simpath from the restaurant, Khalid, Issc and Ibrahim from house keeping, Ismail from the tranfer boat and finally, Bobir from reception. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.
Spectacular resort not far from Male. Service is top notch and culinary experience at Sea Fire Salt and Terrazzo the best in Maldives (booking in advance highly recommended as small capacity). Don’t miss the desserts, pastry chef is excellent! A big thank you to Yassine and Ali, and all the hostesses and waiters who remember your preferences! A big thank you too to the front office team real rock stars in guests relations: Bobir and Prashrit, Joëlle, Ana and the whole team, you have such an intuitive service! It would not be fair not to mention the back of house, heroes of the shadow: housekeeping, engineering and launch! You have made our stay an unforgettable one: We will be back! THANK YOU!
