How to Get There
Anantara Dhigu have pulled out all the stops and excelled themselves on their excellent customer service - especially as a repeat customer. The resort offered a fantastic kids club, spa facilities and numerous top restaurants to dine in. We spent half our stay in a beach villa and the rest in a water villa which allowed us to spend time on the beach and sea as well as the tranquillity offered by the water villa which is closer to a fantastic snorkelling island - Gulifushi. Few things to note: although the resort has excellent sea life, from squids to sharks and sting/manta rays there are a lot of annoying mosquitoes that gave a nasty bite. They fumigate twice a day apparently and provided room spray, plug-in repellent and repellent spray which didn't really work, so be prepared and bring your own. We eventually got the staff to put up nets around the bed in the beach villa but staying in the water villa there wasn't a issue. Overall a fantastic resort with lots to offer with the bonus of a few other surrounding resorts that you can hop over to.
Amazing water villas, with a very big and comfortable bed, we got given sandals and slippers for the whole family and they also have fitness pack in the room for you to use ... the bathtub was the best part, the toilet has a window to see the water underneath....the water is clear and so colourful... the food is pretty good and lots of varieties. The service is really good, the people at the restaurant kept us entertained... we enjoyed the shows at night time. Lots of activities to do. Jet packing was fun ... my wife and I loved the time that we got together while Our son was at the kids club... the kids club was so much fun and pretty big ...the butler that we had was excellent.. we had two days of rain but it was still great fun to swim and do things around the island and water spots... it was a great holiday and we all enjoyed very much
wants to share my experience staying at the Anantara shift resort and spa ... we arrived at Male airport and finding the Anantara lounge was very easy .. we had to wait around 20 m in that time we were introduced to the Anantara app to make restaurant and water sports booking and also we could get updated with any other resort activities daily. After we got on a very nice comfortable speed boat that had wifi it took us around 35 m to get to the resorts island .. at the resort we were welcomed by a group of people music and coconut water, so lovely ... then We were introduced to our butler that took us on a buggy for a short tour around the island to show us the facilities before he took us to the water villa . When we got to the villa we were fascinated by the gorgeous room the bath area and the magnificent view from the pool deck .. we also had access to the ocean from the pool deck ... Andy the butler gave us a mobile phone so we could be in contact with him at all times... we spent hours sunbathing, swimming enjoying the water sport activities like snorkel expedition to a coral reef full of amazing colourful fish. We saw many sting rays at the resort and also little sharks .. our son loved the kids club and we enjoyed our time alone kayaking or relaxing by the beach ... the restaurants are really good we loved the Thai restaurant the most, the food is extraordinary and they have around five restaurants in the two islands ( you can access the restaurants at the veli resort )... the service was really good, the staff are really kind and friendly. The bed was so comfortable and big. I think they have a Californian king size bed which is just great .. the bathroom is absolutely incredible with the best view and so super comfortable.. we also had a couples signature massage and it was just incredible. The spa is over the water so when you lie down there is a window in the floor to see the fish swimming below you ... the weather was amazing for three days and the last day rained and it was very cloudy but the temperature was still really good ... we really loved staying at the resort .. our son loved the whole experience riding bikes and the walks on the beach ... I wish could have stayed longer but I’m pretty sure we’ll be back..
