Overview

Contemporary, swank hotel with spacious rooms, a spa and nightclub with karaoke

The Lowdown

Sprouting from a Roman temple base, the 296-room, 37-suite Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan has an all-glass edifice and houses some of the city’s largest standard guestrooms (at almost 700 square-feet). All guestrooms are decked out with modern musts such as 55-inch TVs, white marble bathrooms, terry robes and 12-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and feature earth-tone décor punctuated by pops of foggy blue and patterned green-gold carpeting. Elsewhere, there’s an Olympic-size pool, 19-room spa, fitness center and children’s program. When hunger strikes, head to Lobo, which combines Prime Steakhouse and Portovenere into one lobby dining spot. And after, get the night underway at TEMPUS club for salsa dancing or karaoke.

In the Area

Jakarta radiates out from Merdeka Square and its climbable gold-tipped Monas (National Monument) is an excellent place to start getting a grip on this frenetic, fantastic city, which is also Southeast Asia’s most populous. Nearby, the massive Istiqlal Mosque and Catholic Gereja Katedral are must-stop attractions, but you can also discover the archipelago’s storied history at the Museum Nasional, and embrace its economic powerhouse present at the Grand Indonesia Shopping Town in South Jakarta’s Golden Triangle (Setiabudi) gov/biz hub.

A great hotel for business trip to Indonesia in Mega Kuningan area. Clean spacious room, powerful shower and with extremely friendly staff. Breakfast is a mix international and local with good coffee. Only issue when I ordered an espresso as room service the coffee arrived and was cold

I expected more in the service

This is luxurious hotel, no doubt. I dont need to share any pictures of the facility. They are available on the internet. The housekeeping made a sweet gesture for my 8-yo daughter and she loved it!
What iritates me is that i feel like the staff is more friendly and super attending to foreigners rather than to my family (local indonesian). I got that impression during breakfast which i was seated to a Caucasian family. Their table was attended several times while my husband had been trying to get attention for coffee and fail.
During check out, i was queuing while two staffs were dealing with other guesses. I was waiting at empty counter in the middle, the two staffs are serving guess at my left and right counter. After a while, come 2 ladies, one to my left and one to my right. Once the staffs are available they serve the two ladies first! They just came and i have been standing right in front of their noses for at least 5 minutes longer. This kind of service dont deserve 5 stars.

What a big place

I would say, I would expect more when I was staying for three days in this luxurious hotel. Indeed, the twin room was spacious and comfy. We can look at the city landscape by the window. Even during pampering yourself in the bathroom. Since the window was clear so it is necessary to pull down the window blind when you are in the bathroom. Otherwise, you will be seen. Therefore, you are not allowed to be in a hurry when entering the bathroom. We should be very alarming by the window status.
No one could reach a specific floor without having a granted access through a key. The food was fine because I recalled one menu was off during a lunch time. They served a very nice variety of food for breakfast. You name it.
However, when we had a meeting in the designated room, we surely need to go to a rest room at times. It makes us more easier if there are more rest room available nearby a meeting room.
