Sprouting from a Roman temple base, the 296-room, 37-suite Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan has an all-glass edifice and houses some of the city’s largest standard guestrooms (at almost 700 square-feet). All guestrooms are decked out with modern musts such as 55-inch TVs, white marble bathrooms, terry robes and 12-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and feature earth-tone décor punctuated by pops of foggy blue and patterned green-gold carpeting. Elsewhere, there’s an Olympic-size pool, 19-room spa, fitness center and children’s program. When hunger strikes, head to Lobo, which combines Prime Steakhouse and Portovenere into one lobby dining spot. And after, get the night underway at TEMPUS club for salsa dancing or karaoke.
In the Area
Jakarta radiates out from Merdeka Square and its climbable gold-tipped Monas (National Monument) is an excellent place to start getting a grip on this frenetic, fantastic city, which is also Southeast Asia’s most populous. Nearby, the massive Istiqlal Mosque and Catholic Gereja Katedral are must-stop attractions, but you can also discover the archipelago’s storied history at the Museum Nasional, and embrace its economic powerhouse present at the Grand Indonesia Shopping Town in South Jakarta’s Golden Triangle (Setiabudi) gov/biz hub.
How to Get There
I stayed here for 3 nights in August as I was in Jakarta for leisure. There's security before entering the lobby which makes you feel safe although I didn't feel unsafe in the city throughout my holiday. Check-in was just average like any other hotel. I expected a more welcoming approach during the whole check-in process but nothing to complain about. The room was very big for the affordable price that you are paying and the bathroom is fantastic! Overall, the staffs are very polite, friendly and although it's a huge hotel just like the name says, they know how to make you feel at home. The hotel is located in the business district but if you take a taxi, you can get to any parts of Jakarta within half an hour (if there is not traffic).
People the room and room service are ok ( see my previous review). Breakfast at the club lounge is clearly not a 2-star hotel worthy. Staff forgets orders, tables not set, children running around and the coffee is not drinkable.
Internet is not stable so credit card machines not properly working.
Once some military staff is staying the staff gets so nervous that normal service to other guests is to be forgotten. especially on checking out at the lobby.
Massage not available due to holiday ( not 5 star worthy ).
Visited this hotel multiple times for business meetings
First , staff are amazing , approach me by name , they make all they can to make you feel at home , the restaurants are great and dishes are amazing , most of my time I enjoy having my dinner in the hotel
Very good for business meetings weather in the launch / executive floor or at one of the restaurants
Don’t hesitate , go , great hotel to be at
