Hip, villa-style hideaway with modern design and private plunge pools near Seminyak’s beach

The Lowdown

Comprised of 24 thatched roof villas, the architecture of the Kayana Bali is airy and angular, with a crisp, modern approach to décor thanks to stone floors, wood-trimmed walls of windows, dramatically lit soaking tubs and pinstripes in place of batik. All accommodations come with 24-hour butler service and mod cons such as loaded iPods, plasma TVs and WiFi. Heated private plunge pools are set in well-manicured gardens with minimalist arrangements of stone and bamboo. Drink and dine poolside at Duah on Western or Asian dishes, or arrange for romantic in-villa experiences after a treatment in Ayur Spa.

In the Area

Party central for Bali’s bikini-clad jetset, “The Yak” is the island’s stylish center of luxury spas, sophisticated nightlife, foodie restaurants, and unique shopping — and, of course, high prices and traffic snarls, so rent a bike or moto to get around. Jalan Laksmana’s legion of indie boutiques is a good place to kit up for nights out at Ku de Ta and the W Retreat’s WOOBAR. If you need a little culture, TAKSU curates killer contemporary art and pretty Petitenget Temple is right off the beach, or just browse antiques on Jalan Kerobokan (near Seminyak Road).

Exceptional place

We have just returned from our trip to Bali. This was the last hotel we stayed in and we were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in villa no 812.
The reception were super friendly and welcoming. When we were taken to our villa, the staff explained everything from how the shower works to how to use the lights. Very helpful. The villa is cleaned to a very high standard, and comes with a lot of freebies - mouthwash, bottled still water, shampoo, conditioner, bath salts, to mention a few.
Every day we had 'the ninja cleaning rota' arrive and clean our room, I have never seen such a great team working together to ensure they leave the villa as soon as possible to let us enjoy it in peace.
Breakfast was enjoyable, a choice of three sets - American, Continental and Indonesian. Again, very friendly and attentive staff.
Tea served in the afternoon was very appreciated.
Meal portions are generous and tasty.
We really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely come back. Highly recommended! Thank you for having us.

Great Honeymoon Villa
Reviewed 3 days ago

We stayed at the Kayana villas for 4 nights for our honeymoon. We booked the deluxe villa with the plunge pool. The room was large and clean. The pool was a perfect temperature (but could not be heated like in some reviews). The service was excellent and we would recommend the spa (more expensive but very convenient). The free shuttle service was very handy and were very accommodating with our schedule. Overall we had a wonderful experience.

We had a 7 meter pool villa that could have been anywhere, it was so quiet and peaceful - room 828.
The frangapani lined walkway to our room and magnificent gardens were just lovely and our room was divine.
We arrived late and had a couple of beers in the pool and the relaxation started straight away.
The service from the restaurant, the front desk, the spa girls and even the gardeners was amongst the friendliest we have ever encountered.
We stayed for 6 nights and it was just fantastic, this place is not to be missed.
The only two things that could be a little different is that the lounges at the villa pool always should have the cushion (we only had for two days) and the menu change or be offered specials each day as we knew the menu without looking at it in the end and it become tiresome.
Fantastic villa and amazing staff, would definitely staff here again

Awesome location + villas

We stayed here for 2 nights in a villa with a dipping pool. The Kayana has a really beautiful property which feels super peaceful, yet it is at the doorstep of the most popular beach-hotels/cubs (W, Potato Head, Alila) in Seminyak. Service was top notch too. Only minor wish is that the rooms could be refurbished. But otherwise, a fantastic stay!

Expect the Unexpected !!

We stayed in Kayana for 5 nights recently and couldn't fault . The place is ideally located and the shuttle to Seminyak square and beach is handy. Each Villas has either a plunged pool or a swiming pool depending on your choice of room apart from a public pool near the Daun restaurant. The Staff is very helpful and go out of the way to help you. Only thing I felt was the food...As our package included Ala Carte~ breakfast and dinner after 2 days it became a bit boring eating the same thing. Their massage parlour was very good and has trained and friendly staff. I loved the ginger tea theygive you after the message. Overall a very good experience Would definately come back
