A trip to Surakata – also knows as Solo – practically guarantees a culture-rich experience. Though small, it’s one of Indonesia’s epicenters of Javanese tradition, perfect for immersing yourself in a new culture.
Novotel Solo sits in the historic heart of the city, surrounded by colorful markets, majestic palaces and other attractions unique to the area. You can embark on day trips to see waterfalls and other treasures of the tropical countryside, or stay close by to watch traditional performances or shop for batik (with the Batik Museum just next door, you can get an up-close look at the process for creating this traditional style of printing on fabric).
But no adventure is complete without a luxurious base to return to each night. With its spacious rooms, spa and various facilities, the four-star Novotel is just the place to be. Indulge in afternoons by the pool, spa days, or simply call in some room service. You’ll be rested and ready to head out to explore more of Solo in no time.
How to Get There
The building so heritage, good atmosphere for people who like historic place. Room so nice with good facilities. The breakfast delicious with excellent service from the staff. Location near the Mangkunegaran Palace.
Basically it's an old hotel with an old decor. Despite that, actually everything is taken care well enough. The food for everything: breakfast, lunch, dinner, is standard. They have some traditional snacks provided in the meeting room.
I had 2 days staying at Novotel Solo on October 6th to 8th 2018.
I love this hotel because it is one old old-fashioned in a good way, combine with Javanese Ethnic as its decoration,
The room is spacious with woody floor meet my style. Toiletries is completed. I feel so comfortable during my stay.
Service can be improved a bit, because usually guests will receive welcome drink, which I didn't get on that day.
In conclusion, I will recommend this hotel because it is located on the downtown of Solo and has Old-fashioned Ethnic Design which you will love. :)
Stayed here end of september and booked the suite. It wasn’t expensive just around 70 euro per night. When I entered the room I didn’t get a wow experience maybe because there was some old furniture in the living room. The bedroom was nice and there are two flatscreens in the room. In the living room there is a second toilet. The bathroom looks ok. But the water from the bathtube looked dark. Someone came, and although the water looked a lot clearer, the problem wasn’t completely resolved. Second problem was that I couldn’t close the bathroom door at all because a problem with the door. The executive lounge was nice, its a reasonable big room where you can take yourself some snacks and drinks.
The facilities are good. There are two swimming pools in the hotel.
I asked the hotel to pick me up from Yogyakarta airport. I got an e-mail back that they hadn’t transport but they gave me the phone number of someone who could pick me up. That was not very customer friendly to say the least.
So all in all although the price was cheap and the facilities are good the maintenance for the rooms should improve as well as the service.
I stay here few times - Novotel solo located in the downtown of solo city. Near to the any object of tourism and culinary.
The room it self spacious with well maintained facilities.
The staff very friendly and helpful
I like the food in here although sometimes too salty for me and thet have live music in saraswati bar
Overall worth to stay hotel and definitely will back to this hotel if i need to stay in Solo city
