Overview

A four-star stay in the historic heart of vibrant Solo, including discounts of dining and spa treatments

The Lowdown

A trip to Surakata – also knows as Solo – practically guarantees a culture-rich experience. Though small, it’s one of Indonesia’s epicenters of Javanese tradition, perfect for immersing yourself in a new culture.
Novotel Solo sits in the historic heart of the city, surrounded by colorful markets, majestic palaces and other attractions unique to the area. You can embark on day trips to see waterfalls and other treasures of the tropical countryside, or stay close by to watch traditional performances or shop for batik (with the Batik Museum just next door, you can get an up-close look at the process for creating this traditional style of printing on fabric).
But no adventure is complete without a luxurious base to return to each night. With its spacious rooms, spa and various facilities, the four-star Novotel is just the place to be. Indulge in afternoons by the pool, spa days, or simply call in some room service. You’ll be rested and ready to head out to explore more of Solo in no time.

The toys at the Kids Club are not well maintained. The hotel looks old. Warm services from the Breakfast Staff. We like their pastry! Good location. Our son loves the bathtub, but not the pool. It seems like so many people smoking at the outdoor area :(

I stayed in Novotel Solo again after a while. The hotel is old one but the service is good, friendly staff, clean room, AC is very cold, pools are nice. It s definitely a good choice of nice hotels among many. Will come back again to this hotel.

No Service and Hospitality

I am currently staying for a night in this hotel on 13/4-14/4 2018.
When we arrived there was literally no one to help with our bags and luggage. I thought, this hotel might be busy...
Then when we checked in, we ask for non smoking room the reception said that the room is multifunctional, we can smoke if we want to...(what???) turns out that they put us in a smoking floor... I am a person with a sensitive sense of smelling... once again, I thought the hotel might be packed so there are no room left!
Then, when I was looking for the gym, I asked 8 people in the area near the pool side (starting from the restaurant crew, cooks, cashier, waiter, and restaurant reception... the completely clueless where the gym was... and 2 people even ask me ‘what is a gym?’... FYI I speak the same language as them! Then I asked the front desk, and Thank God They Knew... I was relief, because I was starting to think that this 4 Stars Hotel didn’t have a gym.
Then I was trying to contact the room service... the line were busy, I try to call the operator, front desk, room service, laundry and even restaurant... all line were busy or no one answered. Strange right! Then I tried to call from my cellphone to this hotel... Strange.... NO ONE ANSWERED! WHAT A HOTEL I MIGHT SAY...
NO MATTER HOW OLD OR NEW OR 5STARS, 4 STARS OR EVEN Bed and Breakfast, IF U HAVE A GOOD HOSPITALITY SERVICE... YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST PLACE TO STAY. IF NOT, YOUR NO BETTER THAN CAPSULE HOTEL
