What We Love
- A charming hotel in the heart of a historic Javanese city, with breakfast, discounts and moreEnjoying a spa discount and treating yourself to a soothing Javanese-style massage
- Getting a front row seat at a traditional puppet show at the Sriwedari building
- Stepping into the traditional Javanese mosque, Masjid Agung Kraton Surakarta
A trip to Surakata – also knows as Solo – practically guarantees a culture-rich experience. Though small, it’s one of Indonesia’s epicenters of Javanese tradition, perfect for immersing yourself in a new culture.
Novotel Solo sits in the historic heart of the city, surrounded by colorful markets, majestic palaces and other attractions unique to the area. You can embark on day trips to see waterfalls and other treasures of the tropical countryside, or stay close by to watch traditional performances or shop for batik (with the Batik Museum just next door, you can get an up-close look at the process for creating this traditional style of printing on fabric).
But no adventure is complete without a luxurious base to return to each night. With its spacious rooms, spa and various facilities, the four-star Novotel is just the place to be. Indulge in afternoons by the pool, spa days, or simply call in some room service. You’ll be rested and ready to head out to explore more of Solo in no time.
How to Get There
We had a half-day lunch for the Novotel Solo medical event last Friday. Mrs. Afifah is the person who helped me prepare everything before the event, she was very responsive and helpful. I also need to show some medical equipment at the event and I really appreciate it. The ballroom has large spaces and high ceilings, with Javanese cultural designs. I also thank Mr. Esrad and the team, before the event start, all tables were ready and the area were cleared. they also helped me to do all the preparations and were always ready to ensure that my event would be held very well. The food is very fresh and delicious. Thank you Novotel Solo for providing the best service for our event. Highly recommended
From yogya I move to Novotel Solo. This trip was made for my cousin wedding. We arrived at Solo early morning & I try to check in early also. Surprisingly i can check in at 10 am, all of my baggages also already inside the room.
On this stay my bathtub cannot be use due to the water quality. The water is black & dirty but when I complain the hotel immediately send the engineer to fix it.
Even I cannot using the bathtub until the end of my stay but I am happy because of the services. The response is fast and every staff is helpful.
1 this that need improvement, the food is not as delicious as on the review. No sausage in the morning, No question regarding the preference for breakfast e.g " tea or coffee" as the one who watching this area is trainee employee.
But overall I am happy, only need some improvement.
Another great stay at centre of Solo, with nice greetings and well looked after by Aji and April at check in and whenever needed advice, excellent company great meals good greetings every morning and coffee from Riska.
Looking forward to returning in near future.
Very good location. The room was good sized. The staff was really friendly and the services super!! Thank you! There were signs of age in every part of the Hotel. The lobby looks tacky with its deep purple (and hard) upholstery.... The breakfast was very good, offering Western and Asian/ Indonesian dishes. The restaurant menu was fine. I ordered a variation of satay but the meats needed some tenderizing... or probably grilled direct out of the freezer...? So the next visit to the restaurant I just ordered a noodle soup, which was good. All in all it was a good value for money.
We stayed here for our short trip regarding to another business matter. The room was well prepared, the meal was okay too. All staffs were very polite and helpful. The breakfast was good, but the egg station should be closer to the customers, to be ordered more properly.
