A four-star stay in the historic heart of vibrant Solo, including discounts of dining and spa treatments

The Lowdown

A trip to Surakata – also knows as Solo – practically guarantees a culture-rich experience. Though small, it’s one of Indonesia’s epicenters of Javanese tradition, perfect for immersing yourself in a new culture.
Novotel Solo sits in the historic heart of the city, surrounded by colorful markets, majestic palaces and other attractions unique to the area. You can embark on day trips to see waterfalls and other treasures of the tropical countryside, or stay close by to watch traditional performances or shop for batik (with the Batik Museum just next door, you can get an up-close look at the process for creating this traditional style of printing on fabric).
But no adventure is complete without a luxurious base to return to each night. With its spacious rooms, spa and various facilities, the four-star Novotel is just the place to be. Indulge in afternoons by the pool, spa days, or simply call in some room service. You’ll be rested and ready to head out to explore more of Solo in no time.

Old but still comes with a good service
Alexandrina M

Novotel was one of the first international hotel in Solo. It's an old hotel actually but still the give good service. They have family room that comes with 1 queen bed and 1 sinhle bed, fit for 2 adults and 2 children. The location was nice near the Sultan's Palace, Pasar Klewer, Pasar Gede, it is in Solo's city centre.

I think they need a renovation soon. The room is clean but they need to updated the furniture. The lift looked old and bit noisy. The staff is very nice, helpful, always smiling to the guest.

Excellent Service but room rather old
Gregorius S

Excellent staff, welcome you and ready with your keys. Unfortunately room rather old. Perhaps if the hotel inform me that they have a renovated room, I will pay for a better one. Room dining and breakfast good.

Good location, friendly service

We found the hotel has a good location. Very close to Batik museum and since we came to Solo for batik shopping we think the location is definitely a plus point. We tried to get upgraded using Accor member but the room was not available so we settled with our room. We got late check out until 2pm, which was perfect for our flight schedule at 4pm. The room and bed are comfortable. We also got welcome drink, which we had together with lunch at the restaurant. The service at the restaurant was sooo good. The staffs were very friendly and polite. Their specialty, i.e. ayam andrawina, tasted good as well. The only input I have is the room is a bit old. I think it needs refurbishment. Will definitely come back to try their spa service!
