A four-star stay in the historic heart of vibrant Solo, including discounts of dining and spa treatments

The Lowdown

A trip to Surakata – also knows as Solo – practically guarantees a culture-rich experience. Though small, it’s one of Indonesia’s epicenters of Javanese tradition, perfect for immersing yourself in a new culture.
Novotel Solo sits in the historic heart of the city, surrounded by colorful markets, majestic palaces and other attractions unique to the area. You can embark on day trips to see waterfalls and other treasures of the tropical countryside, or stay close by to watch traditional performances or shop for batik (with the Batik Museum just next door, you can get an up-close look at the process for creating this traditional style of printing on fabric).
But no adventure is complete without a luxurious base to return to each night. With its spacious rooms, spa and various facilities, the four-star Novotel is just the place to be. Indulge in afternoons by the pool, spa days, or simply call in some room service. You’ll be rested and ready to head out to explore more of Solo in no time.

Good Hotel with Some Notes
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I might come in the wrong time, peak season of Moslem Eid Mubarak, so Solo becomes very crowded suddenly. But, it must be considered by hotel manager and owner that they should allocate an adequate space for parking. Unfortunately, we must share parking lot with guest of Ibis, a nextdoor hotel. Secondly, a housekeeper didn't clean up my coffee cup that I have used a day before. The lift has a problem too. Time setting for closing the door was too slow and very rough when it closed. It seems, the lift needs well routine maintenance. Then, jacuzzi tub was so far, located at a separate building, so we have to walk crossing Ibis hotel. I admit that location of this hotel was very strategic, closed to tourist spots, restaurants, and city center. Also, receptionist, security and bell boy brought me into the friendly Javanese atmosphere. But, some notes I have mentioned before, hopefully can be a suggestion to elevate your services.

very nice and helpful staff, especially the reception, check in and out process so fast. The hotel is clean and nice, and good value for money. Great variety of breakfast and excellent location. The room is of a good size.

Good location, bad services
Reviewed 2 months ago

Location is good, near to solo culinary or iconic spot. But this is not a new hotel and not good maintained, so you will see the the sink is clogged and the receptionist is flat without smile.
I am booked w.o breakfast so I don’t know about the restaurant.

From the greeting at the front desk you are made so welcome. Great room, spotlessly clean, well priced wished I’d stayed longer here would have been worth the commute. The 123 bar served good hot food and wide selection of drinks, great hospitality at its best
