Resembling a Balinese village, complete with free-standing thatched-roof cottages set among tropical gardens, this beachfront resort offers newly refreshed suites with whitewashed walls, dark timber furnishings, and canopied beds with traditional ‘Poleng’ cloth headboards and cushions. The two pools are the centerpiece of the property, which faces white-sand Legian Beach, famed for its intense sunsets. Entertainment is paramount here: guests can indulge in everything from learning how to dance to morning tai-chi-fu sessions, a unique mash-up of tai chi and kung fu.
In the Area
More sedate than neighboring party towns Kuta and Seminyak, Legian is the place to learn some surf skills without being crowded out. Check into the Rip Curl School of Surf for instruction on everything board-related for beginners, reef surfers, and kids. Apres-surf, stock up on chic vibrant sarongs for all the family at Astradeco which has two locations in Kuta. For a sunset scene par excellence, head to nearby Seminyak and its perennially hip bar/lounge/restaurant, the beachfront Ku De Ta, where a glam, scantily dressed crowd sips cocktails and dances to trancey beats.
How to Get There
I was only for 1 night and a breakfast here before the Bali round trip actually started.
We had no chance to discover the hotel by daylight. The bungalow was certainly comfortable to stay longer than just 1 night. There was also no noise from the street or neighbors in the hotel.
Wifi worked well.
The service in the bar was a bit lame this evening, nobody looked for us at the table and we could only get our cocktails by walking to the bar ourselves (it was not crowded, just 3 tables occupied), so they missed the opportunity to make some money with us.
However, the breakfast was excellent in quality and service and is in good memory.
The staff our fantastic, so friendly and eager to help! Great hotel to take the kids, they really enjoyed the pool, the fish and squirrel feeding. We had a beach bungalow, right near the pool, it was worth the extra bit of money, as the room was huge, really comfortable.(The bed was a little bit hard for me, but not terrible!) Really nice relaxing atmosphere about the hotel. I'd go back.
just need more supervision at the kids only pool as very dangerous with kids jumping on guests from the spa area. i recommend the spa area only for adults no kids. the other problem was the parents were not watching how there kids were in the pool area at any time.
great location, staff were wonderful, friendly and always happy to help. The rooms were clean but a bit tired, we were also on the back side of the hotel and the rooms were quite dark, we were also looking out to the staff locker room and it would get a bit noisy in the mornings and staff changeover. I think the villas would be a better option.
We stayed in the Deluxe Private Pool Villa at Legian Beach Hotel in June and it was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT IN EVERY WAY! We are a family of 4 and the accommodation was spacious, luxurious and clean. The private pool was a stunning addition and we spent lots of time lounging around as a family which allowed us to reconnect after the hustle and bustle that is life as a family these days!
Staff were amazingly helpful, cheerful and accommodating and we will DEFINITELY be booking at Legian Beach Hotel again.
