How to Get There
We stayed here with family over a Singaporean holiday weekend. We had just flown in the day before so wanted to avoid using the airport so felt the ferry was a good option. We had stayed in the resort a few months earlier and this time I managed to book a 2 bedroom suite. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable with a large terrace and garden. We had a lovely view over the quiet end of the beach.
First impressions were really good. We were met at the ferry terminal and brought back by car as no other guests had arrived on the lunch time ferry. We were greeted by name and welcomed back. In the evening we had very nice Indonesian food in the Lotus Cafe.
The hotel was very busy due to the holiday weekend and there were a lot of large groups who tended to be quite noisy. It was also difficult to get sun beds on the beach in particular.
We booked ahead for Saturday and Sunday nights to make sure we had a table. The only option for the Saturday was a beach buffet. We arrived at 8 but they struggled to get us a table and the food was not great, with long waits for freshly cooked items.
The following evening we arrived for our meal at the Banyan Tree and found there had been a mix up and again the table wasn’t ready. We had been really looking forward to the tasting menu and found that once again it was a buffet.
Breakfast was good, but again it was very busy and the room got very hot. It took time to put in an egg order as so many people jumped in. There’s a good selection of items, and a nice fresh juice bar.
As it was Ramadan, most of the staff would be fasting and probably suffering from broken sleep so service was slow.
It’s a nice hotel with a beautiful beach and an easy journey from Singapore.
Very pleasant experience overall, the food is on the pricey side and taste can be better (I am a foodie)
I love the overall decoration of the whole resort, not overly crowded beach and facilities.
The crew services are really good and they make an effort to even remember names and room numbers!
Definitely will go back to escape a city life!
Main purpose was to play golf, but i have been very satisfied by the staying. Good room, excellent facilities: beach, pool. Staff very king. F&B acceptable but it could have been better. Unfortunately everything was full booked so we couldn’t try much: spa and restaurants.
My daughter and I had such a wonderful stay at Angsana Bintan. All the facilities were great, and we were really treated so wonderfully that we felt like royalty. The staff were so friendly. We had the buffet breakfast and some snacks and drinks at the bar on the beach. We went up for dinner at Treetops in their sister resort next door, and the Indonesian food there was excellent. The beach is very clean and the water clear and warm. We would definitely come here again. It is easy to get to the resort from Singapore, with a free shuttle bus meeting the ferry from Singapore and returning to the ferry at the end of the stay.
The check in proved to be a hassle as the room was not ready when we arrived. Staff should have offered us the use of the kids club or the Aircon lounge whilst waiting. This was a major annoyamce as the kids were bored and became unbearable after 2hrs. Once the room was sorted we enjoyed our stay. Good for short weekend getaway, but hopefully FOH staff could be more mindful at check in. First impressions are truly important!
