Breezy family-friendly digs with a beachfront seafood restaurant, two pools and a casino in Aruba’s Palm Beach
The soaring atrium-style lobby sets the tone, with marble floors, burnished wood and sail-like crimson fabric draped overhead. There’s a modern elegance to the guestrooms with dark wood and chrome dressers, headboards that span nearly the entire wall and monochrome botanical print carpets. The palette, though, a mix of cranberry, moss and mustard, feels a bit out of place in this tropical environment.
Bed and Bath
Rooms are extremely spacious, starting at 400 square feet. Huge walk-in closets, mini-fridges and private balconies with tables and chairs make them great for families. Tech perks include 37-inch flat-screen TVs with plug-and-play consoles for your devices and fast WiFi (for a fee). Large bathrooms include double vanities, soft robes and tub-shower combos with rainfall heads.
The centerpiece of the hotel is its sugar sand beach, packed with palapas and beach chairs, staff ferrying fruity cocktails, and every imaginable water sport. There’s also plenty of action around the two pools — one with a waterfall and swim-up bar, the other a quieter affair for adults only. It sits next to the well-equipped gym and near the kids game room. You'll also find a casino and three restaurants, including an outpost of Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, a sushi bar and Simply Fish, a romantic seafood restaurant on the sand lit by candles and tiki torches.
In the Area
Set in what’s known as the high-rise area of Aruba along Palm Beach, the property is well placed for waterborne exploration. Book an afternoon aboard the Jolly Pirate, a vintage schooner with a rope swing that takes guests snorkeling amid shipwrecks and shallow reefs (open bar included). Afterward grab a local Balashi beer under the thatch roof of the sandy Moomba Beach bar. For breakfast explore the island’s Dutch heritage with hubcap-size pancakes at
