How to Get There
This is simply our opinion.I Love it here..Quaint and peaceful.Love this area of beach! Never overcrowded always a Palapa.Staff is amazing and rooms are comfortable and very clean. If your looking for loud music and crowded pool and beaches this isn’t for you..But it’s for me!!
The property is attractive, very clean and well maintained, and perfectly located on beautiful Eagle Beach. The bars and restaurants on premises are handy and offer decent fare if you don't want to expand your travel on the island, but the drinks become pricy over time and I would definitely recommend visiting the nearby Super Food to pick up your own wine or libation for your room. That being said, I would definitely encourage you to get to know Peter at the Mangos Bar in the evenings! His restaurant recommendations are amazing!
Other than Peter at the bar, the concierge (who is most helpful) and the beach attendants, we found much of the remaining staff to be quite aloof and unaccommodating, which is why 3 stars instead of 5. They make you feel like they are really doing you a favor, and can really impact your experience, and in our case in a way that really leaves a poor taste in your mouth. Courteous but definitely NOT pampered in a way that you would expect from a resort of this quality.
The room was as described and well equipped with a small kitchenette. A plus is the Laundry Room. Eagle Beach is beautiful and a plus is the lying mats the hotel gives out to their customers free of charge. The restaurant on the beach is a bit pricey.
Very clean and efficient place to stay, The bar on the beach has good food, is friendly, and great. If you are a woman forget going to the bar upstairs called Peter’s Place. Two years in a row my friend and I were invisible when we went up there to get a drink and food. We watched Peter get drinks for men who walked in way after us. My friend saw a man with a resort badge and asked if our money was no good here. He apologized and paid for the food and drinks we finally got. We only would go back there when Peter has the night off. That guy has an attitude problem!
Our visit encompassed 3-10th Dec to coincide with our 25th wedding anniversary. Coming from the UK we had to organise accommodation ourselves, due to UK operators only doing fully inclusive packages for 2 weeks, which didn’t suit our plans.
AMBR was chosen based on website and trip advisor reviews. Fantastic location near THE BEST beach I have ever been to, extremely pleasant staff throughout, thoroughly clean resort, great pool and spotless room (c10). I was also impressed with the amount of Christmas decorations and displays; all adding to the festive ambience.
To take this resort up one more notch I would recommend you remove the curtain on the bedroom door and replace with something less dated (oblique screen covering?) as well as lighten up the room, change the bedroom soft furnishings to a light blue nautical theme and freshen up the wall palette (light grey/blue/green). Very slight changes could attract new clientele.
I would recommend your hotel to anyone
