How to Get There
Hotel was in a perfect location, the beach is clean and the staff was friendlly/eager to help. We stayed for a week and felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. The food was good but a little overpriced, which makes sense considering there weren’t many options outside of the resort in the area but you could easily walk a mile up the road to get good food.
I planned this trip as a surprise birthday trip for my girlfriend. overall nice resort, clean and very close to the beach. Check in was easy and fast like the check out. The complimentary drink upon arrival was a nice touch, they also provide a complimentary bottle of champagne to celebrate the birthday. Room was clean but was missing privacy with the entrance just a few feet from the pool on the first floor and the only window was the one on the main entrance door. There was only one set of blackout curtains, perfect for sleeping, but we had to keep them close all day just to have some privacy from the people at pool. Even having a room a few feet from the pool noises were never a problem. Having a kitchenette in our room was very convenient. Two bars, one on the beach and one over the pool offered nice drinks ($8 for a baby size beer.. ouch!) and they had happy hours for in the afternoon though.
An excellent super market was less than 5 min walk from the resort.
Overall a nice place, clean and in the middle of eagle beach.
Our family of 4 really enjoyed our first visit to Aruba in April 2019. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath room at Amsterdam Manor which was perfect for our stay. It's so close to the grocery store (10 min walk, 2 min by car) and the Palm Beach area which has a lot of restaurants and shopping. Eagle Beach is just beautiful. The staff is very helpful with towels, chairs and beach floats at the beach. There is some good snorkeling right from Eagle Beach (we used our own equipment) and also lots of optional water activities (jet skis, banana boating and parasailing).
Since we had our own kitchen (refrigerator, stove & microwave; no oven), we tended to eat breakfast and lunch in our room or pack for the beach. We enjoyed one dinner at Mangos and also enjoyed the nightly happy hour specials at the bar. Peter the bartender is fantastic. He makes wonderful drinks and is fun to talk to. He speaks 8 languages and is a huge New England Patriots fan!
Our only regret is that we did not have additional family with us. There are so many things we loved about Aruba and nothing negative to say about our week there. We definitely plan to return and would recommend Amsterdam Manor for anyone looking for a smaller, less crowded family hotel/resort in a beautiful and convenient location.
Excellent resort in perfect location across the street from Eagle Beach. Our family loved it and look forward to visiting again. The beach, restaurants, and pool were all great and we were able to walk to SuperFoods and stock our kitchen for easy beach snacking.
The grounds were very well kept and clean. The room was clean, everything worked and was very clean when we returned from being out of the room all morning. Very easy access to the beach, and numerous cabanas to get out of the sun when the afternoon sun fell. Overall, it was a very enjoyable vacation stay!
