Nice, quiet hotel for Mom/Daughter visit
Reviewed 4 days ago

Just got back from a trip with my daughter to Aruba. I had booked a studio villa but when we checked in, they were all full so they upgraded us to a 3BR penthouse on 7th/8th floor. That was a treat for the beautiful view and the bathrooms, as it had 3 BA as well. It was more then we needed but made it quite comfortable. Room was relatively clean. Beds were on firm side for my taste but at least I could sleep. Pillows are indeed thin but I used two and slept ok. Non smoking rooms, a plus. One shower only got lukewarm, never hot, so we reported it to front desk but asked for maintenance to fix after we left as we had 2 other showers to use which were fine. Used spa for a massage first day. Very nice place and had great massage. Ate at Pure Beach one nt and had lunch twice at swim up bar there. Decent food. Ate once at Pure Ocean for brekkie but it was expensive and we liked the option of walking to Salt and Pepper instead for more variety and good food. About a half mile away. Only entertainment was Monday nt karoake. Rest of our time there was quiet in evenings. Loved the beach but be warned, people are there getting palapas at 7am, even in low season, which made it hard to find one (but not impossible) if you went out past 8:30. We didn't see anyone helping to set up so we did it ourselves. Windy on beach and sand will get blown on you. I didn't mind but my daughter did. Bring towel clips! Pool was nice but like palapas, get your chairs early if you have a preferred location. We would usually clip a towel to a chair by 9 at latest. I hate cigarette/cigar smoke and this was only annoyance by pool (well, everywhere)..people freely smoke and don't care whether you like it or not. HUGE turn off. Wish more hotels, including this one, would create a specific smoking area so that people had a choice to be around that or not. Staff all seemed friendly. Was disappointed to find out that they had no options for people with late flights to shower and change (only a small public bathroom off lobby to change in) so couldn't sit by pool or beach for the day. They used to have a hospitality suite for this purpose but got rid of it. I was told many people request this so Divi..pay attention. You could have people stay there for the day and they pay for lunch, drinks, etc. so it's a win for both if you provided them with an opportunity to shower and change. For now, plan for earlier flight. One last note: this hotel is situated at the beginning of the high rise stretch of hotels so it's not as congested as further down beach (where Hilton, Hyatt, Playa Linda, Marriots all are) but yet close to everything (walking distance.) Great location. You can walk to great restaurants via beach or road and all within a mile, easily. Most around half mile.

A relaxing wonderful stay

This was my 15 th visit to the Divi Phoenix and I live it!! Aruba is a safe island to visit and the weather is consistently perfect.
While staying at the Divi Phoenix I have come to know a few long time employees who always go above beyond to give you the Bert customer service.
First you are greeted by the best Bellman ever Christian who will greet you at the door with s smile and hug and take care if your luggage.
While visiting the beach Julio the beach attendant will set your beach chairs up for you and is always cleaning all pools. There are others who will make your stay special a few bartenders whom I can think of his name but he is wonderful.
You will not be disappointed in this resort. Oh and all rooms have full kitchens!

Fantastic Location, Gorgeous Views and Beautiful Beach
Reviewed 1 week ago

The Phoenix really is a beautiful resort. Even when full it never seems too busy. The rooms are very nice and clean...all rooms have ocean views by the way. My wife and I walked the long beach twice each day all the way to the last Marriott resort, about an hour walking. The Aruba water of course is amazingly beautiful and the consistent temps make it a very comfortable place to vacation. The location is perfect, within walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops....and best of all, I was able to get my Cappuccino early every morning at their deli.
I was a wonderful stay at the Divi Phoenix!

Fabulous trip in Aruba!
Reviewed 1 week ago

We just got back from an 8 day vacation at the Divi Phoenix and loved every minute of it!. I had booked through Expedia a 1 bedroom, beachside villa and was a little concerned on where we would be located within the Hotel, as all the reviews gave us different opinions on what a beachside villa was. But upon our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to get 'the best' room of all!. We got the end unit with 2 balconies, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, 1 bedroom, washer/drier combo and a living room. Our balcony had an unobstructed full on view of the ocean and the other balcony looked toward the palapas, pool and Pure Beach...It was all amazing - we were so happy!. The bed was super comfortable and the room was sooo quiet. It was our 30th Anniversary and we had an absolutely fantastic time on the island. We rented a jeep from Super Car Rental (which we got upgraded to a 4 door) for 3 days and explored the island on our own - we thought that that was the best thing we ever did... and 3 days was just about perfect to see everything on the island. We cooked in our room almost every night and used the Bar B Ques at the Hotel - it was perfect!. We didn't find that there was too much of a problem getting lounge chairs in the morning cause the Hotel wasn't that busy while we were there, but we could see that if it was busy, you may be stuck for getting a spot. The staff were very helpful and very friendly and we weren't bugged once for the timeshare push - people respected that your were on holidays and basically left you alone. The rooms were fully equipped with everything that you needed, however, we did need to buy saran wrap to wrap up leftovers - no big deal..it was all good!. The room was very clean upon arrival and we were welcomed with a bottle of wine, 2 free cocktail drinks and a gift from Little Switzerland... Probably because I am a GOLD member with Expedia. The facilities on the resort were good and well kept as well as a beautiful little beach. It is a quiet Hotel, so if you are looking for a party, you may want to venture down the beach to the RUI or the Hyatt. Which we did a few times, but it was nice to come back to the quietness of the Phoenix. The location of the Hotel is also fantastic. The Bus to Oranjestaad stops right out front of the Hotel and you can walk to Noord in about 15 min, along with walking to Super Foods, which is also about a 15 - 20 min walk. I would definitely recommend this Hotel to others and if we ever come back we would stay here again and get the same room. Thank Divi Phoenix for making our 30th Anniversary so perfect!... All the best from Vancouver, Canada..! :)

Great resort!

Just remodeled and updated apparently. It was our first time staying there but some others told us there were recent renovations. Either way - great resort. Really close to most things - you can rent a car but we took a taxi most places. The food was amazing - the staff was always helpful. 10/10 would stay here again.

Some of the reviews mention limited Palpa availability - we didn’t experience that at all. I think there was 1 day we didn’t get a palpa but still had a covered area right on the beach.
