How to Get There
We stayed at The Lodge at Sedona for 4 nights in June. Our stay was not "wellness" related. The first thing I would advise anyone is not to look at the website pictures.
They are not representative of what we experienced. Unfortunately, the Lodge is set up for and focused on wellness residents and not the general population. The Lodge emanates an off-putting medicinal smell which permeates the area. The room and the patio, which we specifically asked for, was not clean. Even after I requested it be cleaned, it took 2 days. The baseboards in the room hadn't been cleaned for quite some time and the floor was in the corners. This room obviously doesn't get much use. Despite the many lamps in the room, there was insufficient lighting to read with at night. Our breakfast the first morning was terrible. It bore no resemblance to the pictures on their website. We were served overcooked scrambled eggs, old fruit in a compote glass and potatoes swimming in oil. No one checked to see if the food was acceptable. After our order was taken, we never saw another soul. We didn't eat breakfast there again until the day we left. (Much better with a different cook.) Additionally, "normal" folk can't get their breakfast until 0830-0930. Way too late for hiking or other activities that need to occur before the heat of the day. The property is lovely, but the Lodge is very old. We were given an "orientation" to the property when we arrived including an explanation of all the "wellness" services. Coffee enema anyone? Very creepy. Overall, the facility is a very uncomfortable environment if you're not into various "treatments". I read a similar review to mine before we booked, and should have listened!
Nice place to heal your body with Gerson organic-diet and supplements. A quiet and pleasant environment with trained medical and lodge staffs that are willing to listen and help! Have been here twice.
I wish to say that this is my second stay at the Lodge at Sedona for breast cancer treatment. I spent a month here in 2018 and have returned for a 10 day recharge. If you are looking for an alternative to the standard protocol and are willing to take responsibility for your health and happiness, you will find great reward and success here! The medical staff is great and the meals and juices are delicious. I encourage all to make health and wellness a priority and check out the lodge! There is a great, caring atmosphere and lots of information and encouragment! Sedona is an amazing town and I am sure I will return soon.
