Business-friendly digs with a sprawling pool and three restaurants just 45 minutes from Medellín

The Lowdown

With its sleek marble lobby and ample meeting spaces, Las Lomas is well suited to business travelers. The guestrooms are serene in beige and white, with blond wood wall panels. But the sprawling pool and verdant grounds (think mature eucalyptus and palm trees) give the property a tranquil vibe. There are plenty of opportunities to unwind: in the hot tub, on the tennis courts, at the bar or in the guestrooms’ spa-like marble bathrooms. A gym, soccer field and three restaurants round out the amenity roster.

In the Area

Rionegro, at 7,000 feet above sea level, is a sea of whitewashed buildings topped with terra-cotta roofs and has a romantic colonial charm. The Catedral de San Nicolás el Magno, built in the 17th century, is among the city’s stunning landmarks, while the surrounding Andes Mountains provide for some dramatic scenery. Nearby Medellín, about a 45-minute drive from the hotel, is one of Colombia’s largest cities (check out the city’s Metrocable for stunning views of this growing metropolis).

VERY COMFORTABLE HOTEL

This hotel is very close to the airport with vans that pick you up and drop you off
when your plane will part.
The rooms have been renovated and are quite comfortable. With a small refrigerator and safe deposit in the rooms. The breakfast buffet was very assorted and good.
I do have one complaint, the bathrooms do not have enough lighting or aren't located in such a way so as to apply my makeup. Even in the shower there isn't a single light bulb.

I just was 2 days in this hotel due to a business trip to Rionegro and I found it lovely, the food was amazing and the environment is perfect to relax after a working day! I recommend this hotel a 100%.

Very clean, quiet hotel with many extras that you may not expect, garden, tennis court, great gm & pool. Shuttle was also very helpful. Restaurant had delicious food, breakfast which was included in tariff was expansive. Staff were very helpful.

Our group of over 30 stayed here for one night. The rooms was extremely clean, the pool was nice & warm, the food was great & the staff was professional. The beds & pillows were amazing. I browsed in the gift shop, but didn't purchase anything. It was fun watching the peacocks & ducks on the property.

I am presently reviewing this hotel from my room. I always want my experience when I travel to get a high rating from me because if I am staying in a hotel, I expect it to deliver a clean room with helpful staff.
When my husband and I checked in today around 2:30, our room wasn’t ready. We had lunch by the pool and it took a long time to get served.
When I was able to get into my room, I wanted to rest before our dinner, and the sheets on the bed were damp..
Clearly, the housekeeping staff was overwhelmed as we are here for a large wedding. The damp sheets was an indication of rushing to turn over rooms without a proper cleaning and attention to detail.
I say this with my best intention that this hotel needs to pay more attention when cleaning a room, needs staff that speaks English for those of us who don’t speak Spanish, and needs to pay more attention to the overall appearance and cleanliness in many areas.
