How to Get There
READ THIS TRUST ME: I got this hotel for one night for my Cousin's 40th Birthday ONLY to enjoy the chef cooking in the room and the bartender at hand. The chef and bartender were amazing. I got this room strictly for the Surprise Birthday. I did not even sleep in this room at night. They did not give me the full Experience. WE received no Desert. FORGET THAT THOUGH. I went to get my bill the next day. They DOUBLE charged me for the room under two different names. THEY CHARGED ME FOR USING THE TOWELS. OVER $300 US DOLLARS and told me If i want I can take them home with me. We had the music on INSTEAD of the STAFF Calling or coming up to ask us to LOWER IT. I had the POLICE at my door. This experience was for 8 People. WHEN 2 people went outside to smoke, when they came back in to come up THEY WERE ASKED TO PAY. UNREALLLLLL.. I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE COMING TO MEDELLION. I WAS CHARGED NEARLY 2,000. YOU WOULD THINK I BROKE EVERYTHING IN THE ROOM. They saw an opportunity to make money and they Raped it. You would think if a person is booking you room strictly for your dinner experience you would do the best. The manger of the hotel was never to be found and when he was, he had no clue about what was going on and asked me to email him when I arrived back to the states. I Personally stayed at the CELESTINO AND IT WAS THE BEST HOTEL and only $80 a night.
The hotel is fabulous, from the time we checked in till the time we checked out. The staff was wonderful with tips on restaurants to places to exchange money. The bellhop (not sure what they call today) went out of his way to get all the info for bars and even drew maps(think his name was Damien from Boston) the concierge was wonderful also (George) what a wonderful person booked dinner for us at at a great place (more on that in another review), sat with us and talked. Booked our hotel in Cartagena. After we checked in n bags were brought up Damien went over all info of amenities n an hour or so later we had a know at the door (a portable rolling happy hour) rolled his way in n made whatever we wanted. Then another knock n chocolates arrived. The beds were very comfy with a small pillow menu if we wanted different ones, sitting area was great with lots of light. Giant sliding windows but couldn’t really enjoy the breeze due to pigeons hanging out n poop everywhere (not good to breathe so when I brought it up to the desk they screwed the windows shut. I thought that was just a little tacky instead of cleaning it. But it was not a big deal. Breakfast was included n was great. Security at front door 24/7. Very conviently located right in front of Lleras park. Will be back. Thanks George!! N the great staff. Oh totally forgot the rooftop pool n bar are breathtaking n not to be missed also you can have dinner. The lobby also was so cool, the wall was a wall of leather chests. Such a great place.
Although slightly overpriced, the Charlee hotel is a solid choice.
The gym is the best in Medellin, the equipment is brand new and there is a nice buzz around the place. (I've visited the gym again when I wasn't staying in the hotel and arranging membership can be a bit troublesome if you don't speak Spanish).
The rooms are dimly lit but clean. The views are fantastic and the location couldn't be better - you are right next to all the bars, restaurants and cafe.
The hotel staff are fantastic and the hotel is very secure with guards on duty 24/7.
The only let down for me was the rooftop, it's not as good as the pictures and you are unable to sunbathe because the pool has a roof.
First time in Medellin, the hotel is conveniently located a corner away from Provenza. Lots of stores, restaurants and bars around this area. We felt safe to walk around. The concierge/host Carlos was extremely friendly and helpful coordinating most of the reservations, tours and drivers. We had a great time in the rooftop amazing view, rooms nicely decorated and comfy. Will come back again!
We loved our stay at the Charlee. Comfortable ample room. Very nice staff. Breakfast at restaurant was OK. Rooftop bar & sushi is spectacular with great view of Medellin and nightly music, some even with live band. Hotel location is perfect at corner of Parque Llera.
