Overview

A stylish five-star Sheraton beach stay on the Canary isle of Fuerteventura, with spa access and half board

The Lowdown

The Canary Island of Fuerteventura is favoured by beach aficionados and active types alike. Embrace both in five-star luxury at Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach, Golf & Spa Resort. Standing proudly in palatial fashion overlooking the magnificent sweep of beach at Caleta de Fuste, it pays tribute to Canarian design in its architecture, with arched balustraded balconies, terracotta buildings and red tiled roofs. Immaculately landscaped tropical gardens, complete with babbling waterfall, and manicured lawns slope gently towards the sea.
Its grounds house an impressive freeform oasis-like swimming pool, guarded by natural boulders and palm trees, plus three other pools. Enjoy a cocktail at the poolside bar or amble down for a stroll or sunbathe on the long expanse of sandy beach. Elsewhere you’ll find a flagship 1000-square-metre spa – a destination in itself. Golf buffs can tee off on a mini-golf course on site or enjoy premium access to the 18-hole courses at Fuerteventura Golf Club and Golf Club Salinas Antigua.
Back at the hotel, you can dine at one of four restaurants that run the gamut of global cuisine, before rounding off the evening with a cocktail in the Piano Lobby Bar.

Relaxing mini break in very good hotel
Reviewed 20 hours ago

A wonderful hotel and spa in a very nice location. It was my first trip to the island and I was unsure as to what to expect. But I was delighted with the stay. We were welcomed most warmly at reception with excellent service. The room was very clean and had an enormous bed! The most comfortable bed I had ever slept in! The sea view was beautiful and most importantly it was quiet and private. The hotel acknowledged my birthday and gave me a bottle of cava and some sweet treats which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was fantastic, so much to choose from! One of our favourite parts! We chose breakfast only but we did eat at the buffet twice and thought it was very nice... we would have liked to have drinks (at least soft drinks) included in the price but that’s our only complaint there. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they work very hard. Drinks in the bar were free pouring- large measures (we liked that!) and the entertainment was pleasent to sit and listen to. The spa was brilliant. Excellent value for money and we had a very nice massage which we paid extra for as a treat. The spa waters were most welcome when it got chilly outside. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely short break away!

Lovely stay, amazing Staff

The room was a decent sized and very clean, with an equally large bathroom. I liked the way the bathroom had separate doors for the toilet and one for the shower too. I even had two sinks to myself.

I only used the top heated pools as its January and the weather is nice but not nice enough to use a unheated sea water pool ,also the poolside service is great .

Dinner I chose the buffet the 2 nights I was there the food was great Italian on the first night and international on the second both having a large choice of starter and main with some meat and fish cooked to order for you.
Breakfast both days where amazing very large offering and a nice table on terrace, all food was perfectly cooked .

Although my stay here was only for two nights, I would definitely return for a longer stay for pleasure.

Amazing stay!

We had an amazing short 1 night stay at this hotel. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. We got upgraded to a beautiful big junior suite, so that was a great start!
The whole hotel, inside and out, was very clean and well maintained. We were able to enjoy the pool outdoors, and the spa facilities indoor.
Breakfast had a very big selection, which we enjoyed as well.
We’ll return for a longer stay next year!

Surprisingly relaxing

I have to admit that i am fussy about hotels and I was worried about this. Previous visits to the Canaries weren’t really great and this hotel had mixed reviews. I’d also been told thatFuerteventura was very windy.
So what did I think? Fuerteventura is a strange island,it looks like a lunar landscape and there isn’t a huge amount there, but my word, do they work hard to make your holiday experience positive!
The hotel is built around a series of pools, most of which are heated to 27 degrees even in January. The design means that any wind doesn’t really hit the hotel. Don’t let the wind put you off!
The reception areas, large balcony bar and public areas are beautifully designed and maintained. The reception, concierge and porter staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms are large and well equipped with big balconies that are comfortably furnished. Slight niggles are that the mattresses are beginning to sag a little, though not uncomfortably so, and the lift capacity is not always adequate at busy times. In practice this meant we used the stairs when going down, not a great inconvenience. The rooms were very clean and the housekeeping staff worked hard.
Mealtimes were mostly buffet. The breakfast buffet was very good indeed, the evening one varied from ok to very good. We ate once in each of the a la carte restaurants and they were reasonably priced and the food good. We were more impressed with ‘El Faro’ than ‘Wok n Zen’ but that was just personal preference.
The main disappointment of the hotel was the Spa. It really was not worth paying for, the pool is a thalassotherapy pool not a swimming pool, the machinery needed is noisy and it is not relaxing, save your money, swim outdoors and buy cocktails with the money you save!
The hotel was only about 30% full in January, that suited us fine. It was good to have a variety of nationalities and age groups in the hotel, all were catered for and treated well. I suspect that when full, in August, the experience might be less pleasant.
One major point to note. The hotel is on the flight path into the airport. Most days, you only notice this as background noise which isn’t a problem. On Saturday however, it became a real irritation and would be reason to move indoors.
We will certainly visit again. I’ve modified my opinions about the canaries!
Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Stayed at the Sheraton for a week from 2/01/19. We had an amazing stay. Loved the hotel had a sea view room and this was big enough with excellent maid service. The service was amazing and I think that made it for us. The Reception staff Bar staff couldn’t do enough to please you, very accommodating. I want to give a special mention to the concierge staff who where just the best made us so welcome and where very responsive so thank you to Borja and Carlos and the rest of the team. We took our 5 year old little girl and the pool are is great lots of space no fight for sun beds. Just great loved the hotel and will be back next year thank you would highly recommend 😊
