What We Love
- A grand five-star Sheraton beachfront stay on the Canary isle of FuerteventuraThe fabulous location on the magnificent sandy sweep of Caleta de Fuste beach
- Complimentary access to the sleek 1000-square-metre Thalasso spa
- The impressive 18-hole course Fuerteventura Golf Club
The Canary Island of Fuerteventura is favoured by beach aficionados and active types alike. Embrace both in five-star luxury at Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach, Golf & Spa Resort. Standing proudly in palatial fashion overlooking the magnificent sweep of beach at Caleta de Fuste, it pays tribute to Canarian design in its architecture, with arched balustraded balconies, terracotta buildings and red tiled roofs. Immaculately landscaped tropical gardens, complete with babbling waterfall, and manicured lawns slope gently towards the sea.
Its grounds house an impressive freeform oasis-like swimming pool, guarded by natural boulders and palm trees, plus three other pools. Enjoy a cocktail at the poolside bar or amble down for a stroll or sunbathe on the long expanse of sandy beach. Elsewhere you’ll find a flagship 1000-square-metre spa – a destination in itself. Golf buffs can tee off on a mini-golf course on site or enjoy premium access to the 18-hole courses at Fuerteventura Golf Club and Golf Club Salinas Antigua.
Back at the hotel, you can dine at one of four restaurants that run the gamut of global cuisine, before rounding off the evening with a cocktail in the Piano Lobby Bar.
How to Get There
Fabulous hotel with gorgeous pools. Visited in August but no trouble getting sun beds. Some are reserved by people but not excessively causing a problem. Staying in a junior suite which is HUGE with a walk in wardrobe, jacuzzi bath, separate shower, separate vanity with two sinks, comfy beds, fabulous terrace with sun beds, table and chairs. Only thing missing is somewhere to hang your bathing suits to dry. Free pool towels which you can change as regularly as you like. Breakfast and dinner are very good with lots of choice. Can be busy at times but again not excessively considering it’s August. Lots of Spanish guests and some English. Haven’t yet tried the La Veranda restaurant for lunch. Shops and restaurants nearby if you prefer not to do half board. This includes a supermarket where you can buy most things as cheap as back in Ireland eg sun cream. Only 12 mins from the airport costing about€16 by taxi. Very happy with our choice.
Spent ten days with my three children at the hotel. Everything was perfect!
From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the professionalism and genuine friendliness or all staff members we were with. And that was the tone every single day of our stay. No exception, not one day, even during the busiest times at breakfast or lunch you felt always truly welcome. To the point that we felt like we were leaving friends behind when we departed.
Hotel facilities are excellent, as the room was, food is very good both in buffets and restaurants, animation team does an incredible job with kids and adults, gym and spa are also good (some gym equipment needs maintenance though)… really all ready for a great vacation.
Location is also one of the best in the Island (unless you are looking for the more animated touristic spots north or south). Beach in front of the hotel perfect for children -equipped with shades, transparent water and protected from strong waves or water current- food, shops and entertainment available within easy walking distance for nice evenings, close to the airport and well located to visit the rest of the island. Can’t ask for more.
So, really, our sincere gratitude and congratulations to the entire staff.
We are already thinking about coming back.
We were greeted by Omar and Tom on reception, who throughout our stay treated us in the most professional, friendly, caring manner we have not experienced for a long time .Food was excellent catering for all nationalities, fresh meats and fish cooked to order, excellent seafood section, sushi, even fresh caviar canapes, the list is endless.
Pool area never busy even though there were lots of families, and sunbeds never a problem at anytime. Evening entertainment was excellent with a mixture of genres. Overall the cleanliness of the hotel is excellent, as was all the staff throughout the hotel.
Finally a big shoutout to David the porter (who is so much more) our Soul Train friend a big guy with a big heart, who we hope to meet again one day even though the worlds a big place to explore.
