Eclectic design hotel with striking white interiors, a Balinese-style spa and access to a private beach
On a gorgeous stretch of sand in Antalya, where dramatic snowcapped mountains tumble into the sea, this eclectic design hotel is perfect for spending sun-drenched days on a poolside daybed, getting sporty on the beach or relaxing in the Balinese-inspired spa. While much of the design — the interiors, linens, staff uniforms and terrycloth-covered daybeds, among other things — is white as snow, there are a few notable exceptions. Red, glowing lamps and orange lava lamps warm up the guestrooms, and elsewhere you’ll find an all-red restaurant and an all-black nightclub.
Bed and Bath
The guestrooms are large, white, cubic sanctuaries of cool and calm. All feature mood lighting and balconies with daybeds; many have views of the Mediterranean Sea or Taurus Mountains. The low beds feature handy pullout tables, and the minibars are stocked with upward of 100 items. Quirky details include lava lamps and fish tanks (goldfish are available at check-in if you wish to adopt a couple as roommates).
Guests come here to lounge, propping themselves against beanbag pillows with a cocktail or a laptop; if you squint, this shiny beachside scene, where chill-out music plays day, night and underwater, could be in Miami’s South Beach. The outdoor pool, bar and beach area are perfect for people watching, and there's also a kids club, an indoor pool and a high-tech fitness center that offers crunch-style classes. Hit the spa for a traditional Turkish hammam or opt for a massage, a candlelit bath in a room strewn with rose petals, or a mega-indulgent caviar facial. The hotel has an eclectic restaurant selection, too, with five different eateries that serve everything from Turkish meze to sushi.
In the Area
Stroll along the landscaped promenade that runs along Konyaalti Beach; it's lined with small, casual restaurants that cook up tasty meals and turn into discos at night. There are also plenty of oceanfront water sports centers offering jet skis, catamarans and the like for rent. The narrow, winding streets of Kaleici, Antalya's old town, are lined with Ottoman-era wooden houses, harborside cafés and a bazaar featuring jewelry, antique handmade carpets, kelims and colorful tiles and pottery. Culture vultures head to Termessos, an ancient city on top of a mountain near waterfalls, or Tahtali, where a cable car offers a bird’s-eye view of Antalya. After working up an appetite, try Seraser for gourmet food in the romantic setting of an Ottoman castle. Kids are catered to also; Su guests enjoy free entry to the nearby family-friendly Antalya Aquapark.
