How to Get There
Recommended by Suzanne Fowler in the New York Times on June 14, 2018, the property, with its courtyard, is lovely and conveniently located. And bed linens are indeed of the highest quality. But Palacio de Villapanes introduces a false sense of luxury, resulting in a variety of discomforts. The absence of a desk makes using a laptop awkward; the two lounge chairs are uncomfortable; the shower is unnecessarily complicated; the TV facing away from the bed does not swivel; and the bathroom far too large. (Better to have integrated closets into that space to make room for a desk.) The heat controls, necessary because the door to the room is adjacent to the unenclosed courtyard, do not work. The courtyard music on the speaker right outside the room is an annoyance. And the lack of a bathroom door (a think drapery substitutes) is a drawback if you're at all self-conscious about your morning ritual.
Far less expensive options are designed far more successfully with guest needs in mind.
Nice hotel located in a historic building in a quiet area, about ten minutes walk from the historic center. Room certainly very spacious, with good finishing; worthy of note is the shower, of a size that looks like a real spa cabin. Excellent welcome at the time of arrival thank to the staff, very kind and prepared, ready to give advice on the city of Seville, on museums and restaurants. A plus certainly the presence of a minibar freshly supplied daily, included in the rate for the room itself. Good level of cleanliness, even if in general it could be worth improving the attention to details (some pieces of paper fell out of the bin left on the floor, presence of towels with holes, turn down service not offered for part of the stay).
In conclusion, a highly recommended hotel, especially for the particularity of the building itself and the size of the room. With a slight improve in the personalization of the service and the care of the client and his room, it would have deserved a full score.
This hotel is fabulous. It not only looks gorgeous but the staff are all so lovely. The beds are the best...so big and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay so much we wished we could have stayed longer.
The view from the roof top area is very impressive too!
My husband and I selected this hotel for a wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. The suite was superb, with excellent facilities and tasteful decor, and the hotel's rooftop terrace was stunning. We would recommend the hotel, and it's superb staff, most highly.
The hotel us in a great location for visiting the attractions that Seville has to offered. The welcome to the hotel was excellent and we were shown how to get to the tourist areas and given advice.
The room was very comfortable and luxurious.
A lovely place to stay for a break.
