An award-winning boutique hotel in the heart of the Latin Quarter, with design-centric interiors
Sir Albert is a hip, boutique Design Hotel in central Amsterdam, housed in a storied building that once served as a diamond factory. This quirky heritage is embraced in the design – courtesy of the award-winning team at BK Architecture – evidenced by the high ceilings and strikingly large windows. These industrial-chic touches are offset by super-sleek furnishings, stone- washed flooring and bold Persian rugs, making this property a style-lover's dream.
But despite all the aesthetic reasons to love this new hotel, you should know it has both style and substance. It's home to IZAKAYA Asian Kitchen & Bar, where you can indulge in market-fresh sashimi and mouth-watering rolls, or kick back on the terrace to take in the pretty canal views. There's even a tranquil spa where you can unwind after a day spent exploring the city – which, by the way, will be easy to do. Located in De Pijp, the city’s Latin Quarter, you’re just a stone’s throw away from picturesque canals, thriving markets, world-class museums and fantastic shopping in Van Baerlestraat.
The award-winning designers at BK Architecture created all 90 guest rooms and suites. In the Sir Deluxe rooms, you’ll get grand views of the Albert Cuypstraat, De Pijp and the city center. All abodes have unique, custom furnishings, lighting and fabrics.
For a sumptuous taste of high-end Japanese dining, IZAKAYA Asian Kitchen & Bar has it all. The traditional Japanese Robata Grill is at the venue’s very heart. Order small dishes called sakana, if you’re the sharing type, or try the market-fresh sashimi and mouth-watering rolls. The bar stocks more than 300 premium wines in the wine cellar and serves a multitude of house-infused tonics based on the ancient Japanese spirit shochu. There's also a terrace, overlooking a romantic canal, where you can take in the views with a cocktail in hand.
Holland’s capital has plenty to keep you busy. The best way to see the city is to rent a bicycle, and then traverse the quaint streets and waterways. The Sir Albert is in a dead-central location and within easy walking distance to the legendary P.C. Hooftstraat, Albert Cuyp (the city’s most famous market), vibrant Leidseplein and Amsterdam’s art-fueled Museumplein. If you're a classical-music connoisseur, check out the Royal Concertgebouw.
