How to Get There
I recently visited Amsterdam and stayed at the Sir Adam Hotel, it was our first visit to Amsterdam and got the train from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Centraal and we had no problem spotting out hotel as we arrived, nice and easy to find. The check-in was an indication of the fun place this hotel is as we where given a glass of cava while going through the process, we where brought to our rooms via the karaoke lift (the other lift was a disco lift), and on entering the room, straight away you can see the cool design format with guitars and pop art on the walls, record player and LPs and not to mention the fully stocked mini bar and the fantastic view across the river and the city - what’s not to like. The bed was comfortable, the room well kitted out, the bathroom consisted of a shower room and a separate toilet which was a little usual but didn’t bother us. The hotel is located across the river from the main train station with a free ferry available 24 hours a day and runs every four minutes which brings you literally into the centre of the city - so highly recommended.
Stayed at this amazing hotel with a group of friends this weekend! I’m still here as I type as it’s so fantastic that I feel like I have to write it all down now! From the fabulous decor, to the amazing rooms and quirky lifts.. this hotel offers hospitality and comfort. The staff were friendly and helpful.. and I am super impressed with the way things were so smooth and easily handled. We have friends who will be visiting Amsterdam in the summer.. we be sure recommending this little gem.
I was blown away at how great this little hotel is. In no particular order:
- Staff were super competent, friendly, and keen to help
- Late checkout (provided free of charge) to 2pm was perfect for my late flight out
- Best gym I have used in any hotel in the world
- Rooms are wonderfully appointed, designed, and considered
- Location second to none, right next to the ferry into Amsterdam Centraal
- Great restaurant downstairs
- Awesome breakfast
The overall vibe of the hotel was really cool, from the architecture to the interior design and aesthetic. I won't stay anywhere else whenever I'm in Amsterdam.
The hotel breathes a great atmosphere and is very stylish. The styling of the rooms fit perfectly for what you would expect when you walk into the reception. All details are great, from the industrial look to the beautiful Gibson guitar on the wall.
Service-wise the hotel does a great job as well. Personnel is very friendly and go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. They surprised us in a great and funny way. After finding out what our plans were for the evening, they surprised us with a puzzle in our room fitting perfectly with our planned activity. We felt really welcome and the staff understood how to make us have a really good time!
Also the restaurant, The Butcher, is worthwhile to have dinner with greatly prepared food. Breakfast is served here as well. Very diverse and of great quality.
All in all, a beautiful hotel with great service. The location is fantastic and you can reach it very easily as the boat service from Amsterdam Central station is for free and goes on 24/7. Totally recommend this place!
Stayed here last week with a friend and it automatically became my favourite hotel in the world.
During check-in we were offered a glass of cava and the receptionist who checked us in was extremely nice. She explained everything we wanted to know and also helped us with some tickets.
We had booked a city view room and we got one on the 7th floor with amazing view over Amsterdam and the river.
The whole vibe of the hotel is really funky and fun, you have a record player in the room where you can play some cool vinyls.
The elevators are also part of the whole experience, you really need to see them!!
When we came back from the city we found the room full of balloons and candy as we mentioned during check-in that we were celebrating my birthday, such a nice detail!
I will definitely come back and recommend it to anyone.
