How to Get There
Our plan was to stay one night here to check it out, and then move to our usual hotel on the other side of the train station. We had such a great first impression and overall stay, that we decided to stay here for the duration!
When we first arrived, we were greeted with coffee and early check-in by a friendly and accommodating staff. They brought us up to an average sized, modern and very comfortable room with a great view of the harbor.
As jet-lagged as we were, I knew there was something funky about this hotel, what with the selection of LP records, elevators with disco-lights and microphones. Our room also had a turntable and guitar up on the wall. I asked them if the guitar was for show, they said Yes, but that they had a "loaner" if I was interested. I said sure, and later that day there was an amazing guitar and amp waiting for me in the room. I was blown away!
We really like the location in Noord- kind of like Amsterdam's Brooklyn, in a way. The ferrys are very convenient, especially to the train station, going to and from Schipol.
The restaurant was also a hip and funky place. The staff never failed to exceed expectations during our stay, making this one of our best trips here (about 6 trips in the last 4 years). Our sincerest thanks- we shall return here!!!
We arrived late fri 7th Dec, Once checked in we were shown to our room, it was 316, a corner room with great views of the city. The record player was a great touch, the decor was cool, the only negative was a slight smell in the bathroom but that had gone the following morning and the shower door needs adjusting as it doesn’t stay closed, but this did not make our stay anymore enjoyable,
All the staff were great, we ate in the bar when we arrived the burgers were very good. The ferry’s to the city were frequent. The bar at the top of the hotel was a great place to spend the evening. We had a great stay and will be staying again, thanks for a lovely time
This hotel made me feel old and young at the same time.
The decor and theme reminiscent of the 60's and 70's flower power and disco scene. The elevator even has a disco ball and music!
Reception friendly, lobby funky and colourful. Room very rock star with a turntable and vinyl records. The hotel was full of young crowds and trendy yuppies.
It made me feel young because of the theme, it made me feel old because of the many young people around me.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend in December. On arrival we were met by extremely helpful staff, two of which spent a long time writing down restaurants and finding trips for us to go on throughout the weekend. We were offered sparkling wine during the check in process, and for a free upgrade to a junior suite! (We has booked a corner room).
The room was amazing, fab views, toiletries gorgeous and the full English breakfast we had in bed was delicious.
It was easy to get to using the free ferry straight out of the station which runs all night (it was very easy to get to central
Station from the airport on about a 20 minute train).
Overall would highly recommend and would 100% stay again!
Saw this hotel on TV and it is every bit as fun as it looks. The rooms are small but very well designed and the beds are super comfortable. Loads of records to choose from to play on the record player in your room but if you were born after 1965 I'm not sure you will have heard of anyone! Really good location, you get the ferry directly opposite central station and then from there you can get anywhere. I would suggest always getting the lift from the reception level as then you either get the disco lift or the Karaoke lift! Also you MUST go on the swing on the roof, go on, I dare you ;)
