How to Get There
We stayed here for 3 nights in May. Hotel is in a great location and some of the staff were friendly. Our room was ok, but we had an awful view of a large flat roof. Think we had a back room. The room did seem reasonably clean but I did find a cotton bud on the floor by the toilet in the bathroom and the shower glass could of done with a better clean.
Overall it was expensive for what it was and wouldn’t stay here again.
We loved our stay at the Park Hotel! The location is super convenient. Easy access to canal cruise, casino, Vondel Park and bike rentals. Easy walk to really anywhere city center. We took a taxi to and from central station only because of our luggage. On other days if we were taking a day train ride then we’d just walk. We have a child under 12 and the distances were all easily manageable.
We stayed in a suite and felt it was well worth it. We are accustomed to the tiny European hotel rooms and this was a very pleasant surprise. Bath with double sinks, shower and separate soaking tub. King size bed, desk, couch (made into second bed), closet, bench and yet still a lot of extra space for luggage, walking around, etc.
The staff were very courteous and helpful. There were two things that were MINOR disappointments. Seriously minor and wouldn’t reduce my rating, but good to know. Many reviews commented on the flavored water in the lobby. It was there the day we checked in, but not and subsequent day. We had been looking forward to this. Also, the evenings in the lobby seemed a bit chaotic. One day there was a fashion photo shoot of some sort, another there was a large private party. As we were there on a family vacation, not to party, the crowd, especially the increased number of smokers it brought to the front of the entrance, was not pleasant.
We would definitely stay again if back in amsterdam!
First, the location is great. Near some of the best museums, parks, shopping. The decor has a hip and modern vibe. The staff were nice, helpful. With taxes we paid about €275 for a room that was tiny and very average. I have stayed in nicer, bigger rooms in boutique hotels in Mayfair in central London for this price.
The shower and toilet were really small, almost hard to maneuver in and I’m a small person of 60kg and 1.62 m. The toilet reminded me of an airplane toilet. The bathroom is open concept and not really that private from the bedroom. We had terrible room at the back of the hotel right next to the elevator so it was noisy. Overall the stay was really underwhelming for the price.
Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Unique room design. Nice lobby bar. All positives. Really no negatives. Price was good, not a great value; but good. Definitely recommend if you are in Amsterdam.
Room was small for the price but ample as we were there for only one night. The location was great in that there is a park across one street that is good for easy walking and across the other street the casino as well as Hard Rock Cafe and other restaurants including a restaurant with wonderful Gelato/ice cream. Interesting entry. Walk through past the bar area on one side and sitting area on the other with comfortable seating leading you to the check in desks. Nice buffet breakfast. Can also walk across the street for a canal cruise which was nice. Tiny bath.
