If you’re taking a trip to the beautiful city of Amsterdam, you’re wise to choose the Park Hotel as your base. A modern and hip boutique hotel, perched on the outer periphery of the city’s world famous Canal Ring, this stay is stone’s throw from the city’s top attractions, renowned shopping locations and finest museums. Enjoy spacious accommodation and a superb level of comfort and service, to boot.
The designs of architect duo B&K enrich the public and private rooms and endow them with a sense of urbane style, from the oversized Missoni sofas in the living room to the black-tiled bathrooms and rainforest power showers. The bar serves delicious wines and liquors throughout the day and MOMO – one of Amsterdam’s finest and hippest dining establishments – offers an expertly prepared menu of Pan Asian cuisine.
How to Get There
I would definitely recommend this hotel! Marianne on the front desk was lovely and so helpful, she managed to upgrade our room for free and sent us up a welcome card and a fruit basket. Marianne also booked us in to Casa di David for an evening meal as we mentioned we liked Italian food and it was honestly one of the best Italian meals i’ve ever had.
The hotel is in an excellent location we walked from the central train station to the hotel within 25 minutes and we also used the trams to go in and out which also work very well. There are plenty of options for food and drinks around the hotel too.
My husband is a light sleeper and said that the noise outside on the night time kept him awake for a bit on the first night but we bought some ear plugs and he was fine. I would expect to hear some noise here because of the location.
We went to the “eye” which is worth a trip for the view - from central station you can get a free ferry over.
The hotel is clean, the bed is very comfortable, the staff are very friendly and helpful and speak excellent english. I would recommend this to any of my friends who are travelling to Amsterdam.
Thank you Marianne for such great customer service and making our stay so enjoyable!
Even for a business hotel the rooms are tiny. If you travel with 2 suitcases you hardly can find any more free space in your room.
There are soft beds and there are too soft beds. This bed belongs without hesitation to the latter.
There is only a rain shower, this means if you want to take a shower without having your hair wet -> impossible. Also, the space is so narrow, even for a medium sized person there is not enough space to put 2 feet next to each other.
The water tap is the most ridiculous item in the whole room. Unless you open it to the very maximum you will not be able to wash your hands due to the poor construction and limited space. Moreover, each time you use it you will flood the whole marble surface. If you place your amenity kit, razor, parfums etc there they will get wet.
Also, there is no coffee machine on the room. This should be a standard item in a business hotel.
The only good thing is that this hotel is perfectly located in Amsterdam. Many great neighborhoods and sights are within walking distance. Rijksmuseum is a 2-min from the hotel.
The room was so tiny it’s unreal. You literally have no room to move in the bathroom(s). You can hear the banging footsteps of the room above. For the price they charge it’s ridiculous. I would not recommend this hotel.
I paid €411 for 1 night in this hotel. I got the noisiest room close to the street and didn’t sleep all day. The curtains barely close and the room is at the level of a €80 hotel. The desk had burn stains on it and the shower had fungus all over the floor near the toilet. I know hotel prices in Amsterdam have gone crazy because of all the tourist but this is crazy.
The location is nice but this hotel (despite the refurbished lobby) is a €150 hotel, not a 400+ hotel.
What’s irritating at places like this is that the receptionist always asks “how was your stay?” When I mentioned that I didn’t sleep all night because of the noise she look at you like a sheep and says “I’m so sorry I will mention this to the manager” and then you NEVER hear back from them. That’s when you know the customer service is non existent at this place.
Don’t go here!!
Stayed here twice in June 2017, loved the location. The hotel itself was good enough. Parking at the hotel was thru the roof expensive. It was in a very convenient location for walking all through the city centre and museum area.
