How to Get There
Lousy hotel and there was no customer service. Room was hot and never cooled down. Had to go to bar to get ice for room. Safe did not work. Had to call 3 times to get anyone to come fix it, Left room and was gone on Viking excursion till 6:30 PM. Room was never cleaned. Had to call 3 more times to get coffee and cream for the morning. There were 21 people going to airport at 6:45 AM and no bills were ready. Bus had to wait on us to be able to check out. No adjustments on the bill. Hotel could have cared less that we had problems. When Viking offers us anymore extended stays on our cruises using a Movenpick Hotels, I will book my own hotel. Terrible, terrible experience.
There was confusion about my reservation through online company because it was cancelled by mistake. Anyway the hotel 🏨 administration gave me temporary rooms till next morning to investigate the issue. Next morning they confirmed my reservation and apologized to me and upgraded my room to suite for the same price and sent me a gift 🎁 with apology. Thanks a lot Movenpick Amsterdam crew. 💐💐💐💐
Average hotel, small rooms, cleanliness needs improvement but generally did the job. Nothing to praise but not much to complain about either. Decent. Hote Prices in Amsterdam going up by a lot! The surround area is quite bare not much going on. By the river so beautiful views.
Perfect location, next to the Amsterdam Cruise Terminal, 10 min walk from the Central Station. Arriving at Schipool Airport, take the intercity train to central station and simply walk to this hotel is the most cost effective and simple way to stay in Amsterdam prior to your cruise. The hotel is modern with a lovely view of the harbor and city. They serve a delicious breakfast and the staff is very friendly and helpful . The City Tour Bus Hop On/Off has a stop practically across the street so one can tour the city for several hours before embarking the cruise ship.
We had two wonderful nights in this lovely hotel, from the moment we walked in and the super helpful young lady at check in greeted us (red head - sorry didn’t get her name) we knew we’d love it. We had the most amazing views from the 17th floor and watched the cruise ships come and go! The room was so well appointed and we thoroughly enjoyed the real coffee machine with pods provided. The bathroom was luxurious and room spacious. Robes and slippers provided.
Breakfast were a tad chaotic but I think most of that came from the cruise clients who converged all at once. The concierge desk were amazingly helpful. Though a bit of a walk to the main part of town - approximately 20 mins it’s still very manageable though we chose to taxi to certain places when we had to be there for specific times - there’s a cab rank right out the front.
The solid doors meant no outside noise from the corridor and aside from the usual twin beds joined together to make a double for us we have no complaints. We also ate dinner in the restaurant the first night and it too was excellent. Thanks to all.
