How to Get There
We Stayed here for a few days prior to a Baltic Cruise. We enjoyed the location because it was on a quaint & quiet street, but it was also walk-ably close to everything.
We took the train/bus from airport which dropped us off just up the street, This was not easy to do with 3 weeks worth of luggage... I would pay the extra few dollars for an Uber if you have a lot of luggage but totally doable if you have manageable luggage.
Our room had a courtyard view, it was well appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I would not hesitate to stay here again! It is in an older building but they have a small elevator for those who do not want to take the stairs.
We were given a few free drink vouchers when checking in, so we decided to take them up on their kind offer and had a nice glass of wine in bar/lounge one night. We discovered they have the cutest little patio in the back! With a city full of adventures, it is sometimes hard to sit in your hotel lounge ~ but this is a destination spot and a nice little haven to escape the hustle & bustle of Amsterdam.
Four of us stayed here for 3 nights. Hotel very handy to museums and trams. Also there is a whole street of expensive shops nearby. The hotel has a small breakfast room and breakfast runs till 11.30. Plenty of choice -fruit, cereals, ham, cheese, cooked breakfast. Bedrooms are adequate. One had two armchairs and double sink while other room tighter for space. Easy to get to attractions
Our room was standard European size, clean, and had a decent, warm shower. The location can not be beat. Just take the 397 from the airport and be dropped off at the Rijksmuseum stop and walk 50 yards. The same drop off area allows you to reach Spui, Dam, and Central Station in minutes via the tram. Obviously, it is a short 3 minute walk to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh, and the modern museum. On the other side of this museum is a fun grocery store called Albert Heijn. We loved our stay.
Loved staying here! The hotel was charming; very well appointed, clean, and well kept up. My room was adorable. Small, but certainly enough room for me. It was clean and my bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great! I ordered from the bar one night and that was very good too.
The best thing, for me, was the location. It's a 2 minute walk to the museums and the bus stops. It was very easy to get anywhere I wanted to go. I either took a bus from the stop that's right at the end of the street, or I just walked, because it's close to everything. There is also a super fancy street one street over with all the high end stores you can imagine. Very close to a main street with restaurants and shops as well. It's in a neighborhood and I felt vert safe walking around, even at night.
The staff was very nice and helpful. I'd most definitely stay here again!
This hotel is on a lovely quiet street a block from trams and buses, a few blocks from museums and restaurants. Staff was polite and quite helpful. The hotel has an upscale appearance and our standard room (209) was nicely furnished and big enough for two (admittedly small) people. I wasn’t crazy about the bed which was actually two twin beds with twin blankets pushed together. My biggest complaint was about the free WiFi. Weak and spotty service, unless you wanted to pay for an upgrade. In this day and age WiFi is as or more important than providing a TV. I would suggest the hotel upgrade this service. Otherwise, a good choice for a stay on Amsterdam.
