The staff here are extremely helpful, the rooms are fine and the complimentary drinks and food are a welcome addition to making our stay memorable. A good location close to museums and public transport- walking to popular places is easy

We stayed here on the front end of a Rhine River Cruise with Viking. We took a shuttle from the airport and arrived around 9:00 in the morning. They stored our bags, showed us a map of the town, and pointed us in the right direction to start our walk. They have a great lounge with drinks and snacks. Our room looked down on a road but kitty corner to a canal. It's an easy walk to downtown, or to hop on hop boats, and to the nearby art museums. They arranged for a cab to take us down to the cruise ship docks, making everything easy.We absolutely loved our stay. The only down side was that our room was over a major road, and the traffic noise was loud at times.

All-in means Great Deal

We were on a Rhine cruise originating in Amsterdam with parents and wanted to enjoy a four-star night in a local hotel before the cruise boarded. So we decided to splurge a little and booked Banks Mansion because it had a great location and, as an older hotel, appeared to have a lot of style.
And so it proved. Very comfortable with a star view over one of the canals and a short walk to a great restaurant (Senses).
What proved a real treat was the fact that Banks Mansion is an all-inclusive hotel, so there were no additional charges and an open bar in the lobby and a free minibar in the room. At the end of the day, we paid only as much as a budget hotel plus bar and breakfast chares -- a real, stylish bargain!
We will definitely stay again when in Amsterdam and will unreservedly recommend this hotel to any and everyone who is visiting Amsterdam.

What a great hotel ! They had our room ready at 700am on arrival day from the US (completely unexpected) and offered us that extra's days breakfast. Virtually everything is included - minibar, carafes of liquor in the room, cheese and wine in the lobby, 24/7 coffee and access to their bar. Never seen anything quite like it. And the room was quiet and comfortable. We left after one night for a river cruise but would have been happy to stay longer. We were able to walk to major museums, Jewish quarter, and Anne Frank house. All about 1.5 km away. There is plenty to do/see in the area including a beautiful flower market. We were unexpectedly charged an extra fee (for 2 people in the room) but that could have been an error reading the fine print on our part. In any event, one of the best experiences we have had staying anywhere. Clearly a place to stay when in Amsterdam.

Rembrandt's back yard

We visited Amsterdam for 24 hours mainly to attend the special exhibition of Rembrandt paintings at the Rijksmuseum. The Banks Mansion is very conveniently situated for that museum and other museums and is very central. It is in a lovely spot overlooking a canal in a fine old building. It's a very cosy family hotel with wonderful personal and friendly service. The breakfast was top class and also they have a free bar in the reception in the early evening which is a nice touch. Would highly recommend it for anybody who wants to explore Amsterdam. It can easily be reached from the main station directly by tram door to door. An excellent hotel.
