How to Get There
Beautiful hotel and public transport to centre was too easy and fast. Very nice naighbourhood and clean hotel room. Breakfast was also Very good. Very polite staff :)
Bus station was few meters from hotel and beautiful park was near hotel.
I was pleasantly surprised by the single room, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. You can reach Amsterdam easily by bus/metro. Ill surely stay at the Amsterdam forest hotel again next time.
This hotel is located in a very nice and safe suburb of the city and only a 20 min ride from Schiphol Airport by taxi or alternatively by a much cheaper bus ride. The city centre can be reached by a 30 min taxi ride ( €35 ) or again by a much cheaper and very frequent bus ride. Buying an unlimited travel bus pass is even cheaper!!
The hotel itself has been recently refurbished and is much cheaper than those in the city. On arrival we were warmly greeted and quickly shown our room which was a decent size, well lit and very modern. The bed and soft pillows were excellent and as well as adequate storage all the normal facilities were provided i.e. hair drier, toiletries safe, coffee making etc. The bathroom was a good size and although there wasn’t a bath there was an excellent walk in shower, toilet and basin. The bath towels were soft but a little small. Overall very good accommodation split over two buildings.
The main building, where the reception was located, also housed the bar and lounge where breakfast is served is also very modern and relaxing. Free coffee and tea is available all day together with fresh fruit. The staff of the hotel are all excellent!
Breakfast comprises scrambled egg, bacon, cooked meats, cheeses, cereals, fresh fruit, lots of different types of bread and various fruit juices. More than adequate to start the day!!
In conclusion a very good choice if you want to be away from the hassle of the city centre and economise a little. Some good restaurants within 20 min walk and the Abina hotel and restaurant is superb and traditionally Dutch.
Absolutely 10 out of 10! Such a polite staff, the premises are absolutely woderful, the bikes and the neighborhood is ideal to get away form the downtown noise, being onle a quarter of an hour bi bicycle!
I booked this for my boyfriend's birthday present. I called up prior to arrival and requested they leave a bottle of prescco in an ice bucket with a note saying "Happy Birthday Lucas, love Jas" which they had laid out for him when we checked into the room (This only cost 25 earos which isn't bad for hotel prices).
We stayed for 3 nights at the end of May/ beginning of June and I cannot fault this hotel at all! The staff are lovely, really helpful and polite.
The hotel is a good location. You come out the hotel, turn left and walk down to the traffic lights which takes 5 minutes, where you catch the 347 or 357 bus into the centre for 2.50. (Note: you have to pay on card you can't use cash.) The bus takes about 15 - 20 minutes depending how far into the city you want to go.
The rooms are really clean, modern, quiet with smart TV's, nice coffee machine and amazing showers! Everything is really easy to navigate. The beds are sooooo comfy- comfier than my bed at home which is rare! I slept so good every night there which is rare for me when I go away. The room phone is also a speaker to play your phone music as well as a charger which was really useful!
It's a small hotel and really new so was nice and chilled out there, not too many people.
If you walk out of the hotel and walk left (same direction as bus stop) there is one 'coffee shop' and also a bar where you can eat, drink and smoke. The bar will cook up most things you want to eat.. we had chicken wings and nachos. It's good if you arrive late, like us (9:30pm) and want to pop out for a pint of amstel and some food.
I will definitely book to stay at this hotel again for my next visit!
