How to Get There
My husband & I eloped on Dec 5, 2018. The staff was fabulous! Stephanie checked us in ;she was gracious & showed us around the premise,We immediately settled into our room & she came back with complementary champagne.
The following day was our big day & each staff member couldn’t have been more helpful. They took pictures & laughed with us. It was everything we wanted & more.
The dining was fabulous & the Inn alludes charm.
A special Thank you to each of you!
This place is overrated in my opinion...Rooms are in need of a renovation. Tub drain did not hold water, towel bar was broken, furniture and floors were marred pretty badly, door knob to room was in pretty bad shape, the springs in the mattress could be felt and heard, hall carpet was badly worn and coming loose. The breakfast was adequate, but nothing that you couldn't find at a Hampton Inn. The point is that if you are going to charge these kind of rates, then offer your guest a "true" B&B experience, not The Quality Inn if you know what I mean.
jWe stayed in the little house next to the lodge. I wrote a note to the owner about our stay. I hope he received it and so that some changes can be made for people that stay there in the future.
We were not told about the books and games available, but just happened to see them.
People were not friendly and talkative. Luckily we found some sisters that shared the cocktail hour with us.
This was a return visit for us so our expectations were quite high. It is only fair to say our visit covered a Monday & Tuesday evening prior to Thanksgiving so that may have had some impact on what we experienced. We arrived a bit early but our room was ready. It was an ocean front room that was quite large however, the mattress was really soft and is probably due to be replaced. We had lunch downtown and returned expecting their superb happy hour with pretty good food. While it was okay, it was not what we expected based on our previous trip. The buffet breakfast was still pretty good and one day featured pancakes made to order. My wife was convinced she would have pancakes the next day only to discover they were not offered. The kitchen staff was very accommodating and provided her with a pancake order she felt was very good. Overall we think the staff was a bit disconnected or needed more training or both. It slightly diminished the "wow" factor we had had on another stay at this location.
This is our second time to visit this resort. We have noticed a definite decline in the staff and services.
The bathrooms in the rooms are very dated and need to be updated. No coffee in rooms, no safes, and no full length mirrors.
Paying $400 a night, I don’t expect an envelope in my room asking for gratituties for the staff. That is VERY tacky!!!
