La dolce vita doesn’t get much sweeter than this. Clinging to a hillside that overlooks the azure Bay of Salerno, and surrounded by scented lemon groves, Hotel Raito is a heavenly slice of Amalfi with a glamorous Riviera appeal. Bright and spacious bedrooms offer stunning views of the breathtaking coastline and bay, while around the hotel you’ll find plenty of spots to soak up the surroundings. For starters, try the two outdoor pools with sun terraces and elegant outdoor restaurant with panoramic vistas.
You’ll feel blissful after a pampering session in the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winner’s ExPure Spa, with its heated indoor pool, sauna, wealth of massage treatments and more. If you fancy a break from utter relaxation, the hotel is well-placed for exploring the beautiful Amalfi coast and its many highlights. The bellissima town of Vietri sul Mare is just a short ride away on the hotel’s free shuttle bus and holds a wealth of ceramic shops and places to eat and drink.

They are spacious, flooded with light through French windows and furnished in an elegant and modern décor.
There are a couple of dining options at Hotel Raito, the most impressive being the spectacular à la carte Il Golfo Ristorante. This is one of the most renowned restaurants on the Amalfi Coast and certainly one of the most beautiful, with its wide, panoramic terrace overlooking the bay.
The hotel’s ExPure spa is a well-equipped sanctuary of beauty and wellness, featuring a heated indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna and Turkish bath. A range of treatments can be enjoyed inside the spa or al fresco on the private terrace, with to-die-for panoramic sea views.

How to Get There
-The air conditioning was damage the first day and was a really bad night.
- the buffet breakfast was really bad. Only some bad scamble eggs, some bread and cheese. NO MORE 😪.
- Pool its open really late and close really early.
- Wifi not so good.
The rest its a normal hotel. Maybe 4 stars, but never 5 stars hotel.
Hotel Raito can best be described as a destination hotel that focuses heavily on weddings (one each day while we were there). In our opinion this hotel has at least one 1-Star waiter, 2-Star food and service, 3-Star rooms, 3-Star “remote” location, 4-Star outdoor facilities, and a 5-Star view. I can only assume that our tour company choose this hotel for the view and outdoor appearance, without ever staying here. The only dinner (included with the tour) we had there featured mediocre food (at best) at high prices. The beds very uncomfortable. The bathroom shower was smaller than anything I’ve seen outside of Tokyo. The breakfast was worse than a typical EU 3-Star hotel. To get decent food you have to pay extra. The AC in room struggled to keep up. No real concierge service. Desk personnel at front desk more typical of 3-Star than 5-Star. In addition, we had one episode with a waiter (and a lesser one with a shuttle driver) that were totally unacceptable and told us everything we needed to know about the culture and quality of management at this hotel. With the food so bad, we didn’t want to eat at the hotel and thus had to take a hotel shuttle to / from Vietri sul Mare for dinner. Because of the limited shuttle times, this was an inconvenience. I’ve been to Italy many times, staying in 3, 4, and 5-Star hotels. This hotel provides the best first impression, but then moved to bottom of the list on the more important (at least to us) other aspects. During our Amalfi Coast tour, we saw many “5-Star” hotels. One of them has to be better than this one!
This hotel need some major renovations and updating. The rooms are in Art Deco style and stuck in 80s/90s, the sheets are poor quality, worse than hospital sheets. Bed was uncomfortable. Bathroom Old and small shower. WiFi sucks. Staff are not trained well. At the pool, you have to go ask for towel. Breakfast ordinary buffet.
Really overpriced. Not 5 star at all. At best 2 star.
Staff need major training in hospitality. No manager on site for issues and problems.
Did not enjoy my stay here at all .. the view from the hotel is lovely . But that’s about it ! The food in this hotel is awful .. presentation was nice but every meal I had was inedible it was so frustrating .. would not recommend eating there at all and over priced !! There is zero to do .. no entertainment for the guests .. so take a good book to read going to need it .. staff were not that helpful considering ! Pool area did not open till 10 and spa till 12 .. was very bored ! Spent a lot of money booking for this hotel and was very disappointed ! I found a lot of ants on floor in room .. this is a five star hotel which I don’t think it should be at all ! The main town is near but nothing really there just ceramic shops and no English speaking I ! 25€ to go to beach from hotel with no taxis available and limited shuttle room ! Very disappointing ! Once at beach it’s difficult to get back because of taxis non available .. just a boring hotel .. view that’s all it had !!
My wife and I stayed here for 10 nights at the beginning of July. The hotel is up the hill from Vietri Sul Mare and offers amazing views over the towns below, Vietri and Salerno.
Breakfast, (long, boozy) lunches and dinner were all great, Perhaps a little more variety in the menu choices would be an idea, but there was always something that we wanted and it was always fantastic.
The Front Desk staff are incredibly helpful. They organised taxis, boat hire, recommended restaurants and nearby towns that we should visit. Nothing was too much trouble.
Tip: Take a trip to 'Cava de tirreni', a quaint, friendly in land town with lots of nice bars and restaurants, excellent for beautiful people watching. (15 mins in a taxi, 30 Euros)
There were a few weddings taking place during our stay, but the hotel caters for them so well and is very separate from the main hotel guest dinning areas. It actually added to our experience of real Italy and we enjoyed watching the wedding guests arrive.
The pool is clean, again friendly helpful staff are always on hand and we never had an issue getting a lounger. Drinks and food are delivered to you, so you just order and relax.
There is a lovely, chilled atmosphere around the hotel and this just made our holiday go without a hitch and made unwinding from the stress of work so much easier.
Tip: Take a little walk up the hill past the hotel into Raito town, where you will find a stunning church,a couple of tiny convenience shops and a coffee shop, with incredible views and welcoming locals.
Highly recommend this hotel if you want to avoid the crowds of Amafi and Positano and experience an authentic Itailian coastal holiday vibe.
