Set a quick drive north of the Amalfi Coast, the scenic and hilly town of Ravello is a go-to destination for travellers seeking romantic vistas, lush gardens and sun-soaking in style. Discover its charm with a stay at Villa Piedimonte, which combines classic-meets-modern interiors with views of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Villa Piedimonte is an environmentally-friendly hotel offering terraced and soundproof rooms for both a relaxing stay and a sound night’s sleep. Take a dip in the outdoor pool or wander about the terrace and garden before sitting back with a drink at the bar. Best of all, you can treat yourself to a complimentary room upgrade, subject to availability upon check-in.
Classic deluxe rooms are stylish yet comfortable, and feature elegant furniture in soft white and pastel shades. All Classic deluxe rooms have a terrace and flatscreen TV.
You can wake up to a deletable breakfast each day, served in the restaurant which boasts lovely views over the stunning coast. There’s also a bar, so you’re never far from a cooling refreshment.
From Villa Rufolo’s colourful gardens to the unforgettable Auditorium Oscar Niemeyer, Ravello bursts with sights that nature and architecture obsessives will fall in love with. The town is dotted with traditional restaurants for a fun foodie experience, whilst Amalfi and Pompeii are nearby for an enriching escapade along the Italian coastline.
How to Get There
From the moment we arrived at Villa Piedimonte we were impressed! The property is an idyllic little hideaway just a few minutes down the hill from the centre of Ravello. A beautifully kept exterior (lemon trees galore and walls of rosemary) is paired with a modern interior. The staff are friendly and welcoming and you are even greeted by a welcome buffet on arrival!
This isn't a typical hotel, in the sense that it does not have a hotel bar and the dinner offering is more upon request than a nightly event. I would describe Villa Piedimonte as a boutique, high-end, bed and breakfast with lots of added extras! This is by no means a bad thing, it makes for a very peaceful atmosphere throughout the property. The service is fantastic throughout the day and you are able to order drinks and food to your room or out to the lovely pool area.
The rooms are modern and comfortable with some luxurious flourishes, the bath robes, slippers and impressive bathrooms (rainfall showers and large bath tubs.) If you enjoy spending time on the terrace, request room 403. They call it 'a terrace with a room' and it certainly is! The large terrace offers sea and pool views, the perfect spot for some secluded sunbathing or a private dinner.
The property offers a free shuttle into the heart of Ravello every hour in the form of their vintage mini-bus (see pictures) - they even offer free lifts to specific local locations if you ask in advance.
If you are looking for a peaceful base from which to explore Ravello and the Amalfi coast, I would certainly recommend it.
This review is easy: simply wonderful hotel.
Parking was easy, Reception staff outstandingly helpful and charming (especially, but not only, Fabrizio). Our De Luxe suite was beautiful, large and with all amenities to high standard, awesome views. Wifi was a bit slow but workable. Breakfast was very good. Transport up to square in 1966 Fiat van 750cc was a treat, the walk downhill is nothing, good restaurant recommendations.
Swift and willing help with baggage. Everything clean and stylish, beautiful gardens.
A rare case where nothing at all to list as a negative. Loved it. And Ravello is one of the few sane/calm places to stay on the coast. Make sure you get as far as Villa Cimbrone when you explore Ravello.
Villa Piedimonte is beautiful and serene. They are located up in Ravello where the views are spectacular. Ravello is also peaceful and less crowded than other towns down on the coast.
For our wedding anniversary, the staff upgraded us to a beautiful suite with large balcony and stunning views. The room was clean, spacious, and modern, with a very comfortable bed. They had two glasses of prosecco and sweets waiting in our room for our anniversary.
The pool area is nice and peaceful, with more breathtaking views. They have drink and towel service.
The villa serves breakfast, though it is a basic breakfast.
From the villa, there is about a 10 minute walk to the village and they also offer a van service since it is an uphill walk.
The staff was very kind and helpful, offering restaurant suggestions and tips for activities.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.
There are few words that can accurately describe our level of relaxation and happiness in Ravello. It was everything we had heard and more. Our two nights in our fabulous suite overlooking the magnificent coast in Villa Piedimonte were simply not enough. We barely were able to enjoy the gorgeous pool and pool deck and the only reason I wasn’t too upset is that we promised ourselves that we would be back to this magical little hotel. Breakfast was delicious. Fresh mozzarella cheese with perfect tomatoes and bread. Perfect start to your morning!
I definitely recommend this beautiful hotel and would go a step further and say that planning a day to just chill at the hotel an enjoy the pool is a must! The town is so beautiful, but the hotel is just too beautiful to not enjoy!
This was our 3rd stay at this hotel in 3 years and it just keeps getting better each time. We felt like we were returning home to see members of our own family as we were treated with such a warm welcome. We were there to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary after getting married in Ravello last year and the staff not only remembered us but also upgraded us to an amazing suite and brought prosecco and pastries to our room shortly after check in. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Great location just a short walk (uphill) to the main square but they have a shuttle bus that will take you there if you'd rather not walk and the views are breath taking. Breakfast has a great choice and always fresh and plentiful. And, it is all laid out in a bright, airy breakfast room overlooking the Amalfi coast. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. Every single staff member we met was wonderful and so helpful but a special mention has to go to Fabrizio who is the most genuine guy I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He consistently goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and builds a very good relationship with the guests even though they are only staying a few days. I simply can not fault this hotel in any way and can't wait to go back again.
