How to Get There
My wife, daughter, partner and I recently stayed at the Positano Art Hotel and found it to be a very pleasant hotel. Unfortunately, they are currently undergoing renovations and on our first night/morning we experienced some degree of noise, however, upon talking with reception were able to move to another room away from the majority of the noise.
The staff were friendly and helpful and even baked us a free cake to celebrate our daughters birthday as there was very few shops open due to the winter shutdown.
The hotels location was excellent with terrific views overlooking the sea.
FIrst of all there is NOTHING cheap in this area, so brace yourself. However, the money that I spent here for one nights accomodation was well worth it. The staff was SO friendly and accomodating. The room had an amazing view. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast food was astounding. By far one of the best places to while visiting this quaint little town.
We really loved our stay at this very pleasant hotel in the charming town of Positano. The hotel is well situated on the hillside with a stop for the local bus right outside. This proved useful for times when the many stairs up and down the hillside became too much.
Our room was small but was big enough for our purposes with an excellent shower and a really lovely balcony overlooking the town.
Breakfast was OK, but the main star was the service. All the staff were wonderful but a huge thank you in particular to Ahmed who patiently answered our many questions and was incredibly helpful. We would recommend this hotel.
This hotel was right in the centre of town. Great view of coastline, with a lovely balcony for two people to sit. loads of flowers around which makes it pretty at any time of the day. Room is not very spacious and bathroom has a old style hair dryer. We did face ab issue with no water in the bathroom but it was fixed quickly. Breakfast was sumptuous. special mention to a few pies which were truly delicious. A great choice ! and value for money.
I have to say, as an Italian who lives in USA, Italy will always have a piece of my heart and I think that anything can compete, Positano is one of the most beautiful place where everyone needs to go once in a life.
I've been a lot of hotels, but I do have only fews where I'd rather to come back and not only for the places but also for the amazing people I met. Definitely The Art Hotel Pasitea is one of it.
In my opinion, the hotel has one of the best position, "in the middle of", 'cause is:
-not so far from the Sita Bus Station;
-1 foot far from the Interno Positano Bus;
-close by the first parking space which isn't as expensive as the others you can find down the center. (20 euros per day).
-at the street level which means NO STAIRS with baggage, and believe me you don't want to do it.
-the view leaves you breathless.
The Hotel is unique, the rooms are unique. I have read a lots of reviews and I don't really understand why people says that it is boring and old-fashioned. ""I Would say that carpet and wallpapers are dated"". Also if you think that it doesn't worth the money, well I do think that you've never been anywhere else though. Barcelona, England, Amsterdam, New York City, Niagara Falls,San Diego, Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan aren't as cheap as you think. parking can cost between 20 and 90 dollars (often per hour), rooms aren't as big as you think..to call a cab is expensive..etcetera. The truth is that we're not paying for the stars, we pay for the place and the only thing that matter and we should do is trying to appreciate what culture and people can give us.
Anyway, this hotel for me is cozy and super clean, I have to thank Mrs. MariaGrazia for her job and for her careful and willingness.
The atmosphere is warm, the staff is really empathic. Giovanna, Tony, Ahmed at reception are very helpful and they really try to advice the best they can. I appreciated all the informations about the places to visit, I suggest "the path of gods" it worth it.
The breakfast isn't really continental, but I'm Italian and I don't complain for it, croissant and espresso are the best, for me.
One of the thing that I really miss is the lounge bar, Gianluca and Raffaele Know what they do, if you have time you should drink The Hugo cocktail . Amazing!
Honestly the only thing I can complain about is the fact that besides the marvelous Bouganville that blooms only during spring and summer it should has more color and fresh flowers, and definitely the hotel might needs more plugs and lights.
The last thing that I want to tell is: nothing can make your journey memorable if you don't feel like home, if you're not treated only as a tourist but as a part of a family, if you're not in the mood. No one is perfect, everyone has good days and bad days, we're not queens or kings and they are not servants, they are workers, if you ask politely they are happy to help and if each one of us do their part, everything can look and be better.
