Delayed in Anchorage

The evening Marriott front desk staff of Mallory and Annie made our last minute reservations for our crew. We walked in and was greeted with a high level of professionalism and a friendly smile. They promptly took care of all 8 of our requests and changes to our reservations. They advised us on some popular places to grab a late night meal and all their suggestions we spot on.
Very convenient location and Great staff.

Good chain hotel experience

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room clean, decent view, good in-room coffee. Easy walking distance to many restaurants and shops, not far from airport. Nice breakfast buffet and eggs to order. WiFi free if Marriott rewards member.

A Name is not everything!

Anchorage was the last point in our tour that started in Vancouver, thru a cruise to Alaska wonders and a post-tour in the Alaska beautiful interiors. All the hotels that we stay were fantastic, with friendly staff, comfortable and clean rooms providing high stands of accommodations. This is the reason that we were already trilled and expecting to arrive to the Anchorage Marriott hotel. The standard of the “unknown” hotels we stayed until this point were so high, that for sure we expected at least that standard or even more as anticipated from such classy hotel chain.
BUT, as large the expectation the deep the disappointment was. The staff was professionally attentive but not more. However, the greatest disappointment was the room. The room looked as it had seen better days and was stuffy. The rugs were dirty. Their condition was so bad that my wife placed the large towels in the floor so we can walk bare foot! And if this wasn’t enough, they DIDN’T offer FREE WIFI. In our era WIFI it is not anymore a luxury, but a commodity. When I called the front desk for wifi they offered alternatives: go from my room down to the lobby and enroll to their “Consumer Club” to get exempt of the WIFI cost or pay for the wifi use a sum that was similar to the one needed to pay on board of a ship traveling in the ocean! What a shock for me! Why I need to go to this “high class hotel” when I can get better service on smaller and friendly ones as I visited during my tour.
In Anchorage, try another maybe less renown but more attentive hotel.
