How to Get There
This review is to share with upcoming travelers to read the fine print. Our family was to travel down to Alabama after a short stop to drop off our college student. Trust me I was extremely excited about visiting this area. Very much upset. With all of the reports of this flesh-eating bacteria, not even a week from our reservation date confirmation and weeks before travel, my family members namely my mother said she did not wish to travel to the beach for fear of all of the bacteria in the water. I contacted the host TURNKey at their 24-hour reservation support line 512-829-3039. I was then directed to cancel via Airbnb. When I tried to cancel I would lose over $661 of the $936. I contacted the host-TURNKey again and was told that this is not their policy it is the policy of Airbnb. Back and forth with no clear understanding. Bottom line I only get $270 of $936 back! Horrible feeling. Trust me I would never have requested to cancel but there wasn't a way to talk my mother into going near the Gulf water. To my mother it doesn't matter if the claims are in Fl, the fact is its the same ocean. In the end, I am the one who lost out. I would caution everyone reading this, to be sure to reread TURNKey's policy as it relates to Airbnb. Better yet just select a host who is willing to give you a full refund for those just in case events. I would have never imagined that this would happen and to my expense. I would never do business again with Airbnb and I dare not tell my mother or she would blast Airbnb as well as the host all over her Facebook account and would probably call the news (lol). sigh. Hope this helps someone and save someone this misfortune of money lost. Don't mean to be negative. I am just trying to help someone!
Been coming down here for years and have nothing nice to say about Latitudes restaurant, but ordered room service twice this trip. My friend got a ribeye and I got a fried shrimp po'boy. The steak was melt in your mouth and the fried shrimp were off the chain good. I ditched the bread and ate the shrimp and fries. Excellent, beyond belief and even though it was room service, it was cheaper than eating out. Many thanks to the room service chef!
I absolutely loved Perdido beach resort! The staff were extremely friendly, and the resort itself was very clean. When I first got to Perdido Beach Resort with my friends, a girl named Crystal at the front desk checked us in and was super sweet and polite. My friends and I forgot our keys quite a bit during our stay, and another girl named Madison at the front desk always helped us out with a smile on her face! She went above and beyond her job to make us feel at home and comfortable, remembering our names and always asking us if we needed anything. She is extremely hospitable and she gave us numerous recommendations on things to do at the resort and around Perdido. All and all, the resort is great, but our trip was really made by the impeccable service that Madison and Crystal gave us, and I hope they are recognized for their outstanding work ethic! I will be recommending this resorts to others!
We stayed over the 4th of July week. We found this hotel the previous year on our journey to Florida to visit relatives. We stayed only one day during that time and truly regretted not being able to stay longer. So we made a vacation out of it this year.
We had an angle king bedroom, which view wise isn’t the greatest but also not the worst. Can’t fault them on this as it was July 4th week and they fill up quick I’m sure.
The room was clean and inviting. House cleaning were extremely great. We had plenty of towels and our bed was made every night of our stay. Even with our daughters stuffed animals lined up on the bed, which was a cute touch.
Really no cons about the room. Overall great stay. If your able to get an ocean view room during your stay, it would be truly amazing.
They have all sorts of options at this place. We ate pizza, we had a casual lunch/dinner options. Even breakfast. Mind you the food is pricey, it’s a hotel after all. The only option we didn’t partake was the breakfast. The breakfast is very expensive. Around $15 per person for their breakfast buffet. Which to us with our daughter who eats like a bird and is over the child price point makes it hard to choose to eat breakfast here. So we decided to eat offsite during our stay for breakfast. They have some really good options very near.
What can you say? I mean their pool is probably one of the best pools I’ve been to at a hotel. Anything better would be more a water park. They played live music everyday of our stay, which was great. My daughter preferred the pool over the beach (don’t have to worry about getting sand everywhere).
The Beach is literally just a stroll across the deck from the hotel pool. The sand makes this one of the top beaches i’ve been to. It’s like sugar sand. Very light and feels great during the late night strolls along the beach.
They kept it clean and with chair/umbrella rentals, made the beach quite the luxury experience. FYI you can rent and reserve the chairs right on the beach for your whole stay! How awesome is that. They supply chair cushions and umbrellas during their operating hours. You can also rent kayaks and paddle boards etc.
At night you’ll see people wondering along the beach using their phones or flashlights out for a walk, or possibly trying to catch crabs. We managed to see some crabs and even saw a couple baby sized sting rays out on our walks at night.
Overall a tremendously great hotel/beach to spend your vacation at, that’s not really in the know for many people.
My stay at Perdido Beach Resort was nothing but INCREDIBLE. I loved every aspect of the resort starting with check-in with Crystal - she welcomed us extremely well and recommended food and fun things to do in the "beach" city. Next, the rooms were great and comfortable especially the beds :). The convenience of the pool and beach were easily the best thing to my stay here. Throughout the week, we go to the front desk and Madison would give us incredible recommendations and showed us a tour of the whole property which was so nice of her and would truly come back to the property for the incredible customer service and the convenience of everything. I will be coming back here whenever I am back in Orange Beach!
