How to Get There
Location is very good. The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. If you need it, the corner suites are very spacious. This was my second stay at this hotel and I will not hesitate to stay there again.
Just remember, the kitchen does not have equipment if you need to prepare food :)
This is the morning of my 1 night stay..
I could not wait to add my review seeing as though I didn’t sleep last night. The rooms here are all surrounding the downstairs lobby, and the noise at the bar was very loud.
It seems my room was below some type of closet or pipes because I heard very loud noises and banging all night, not to mention the very loud neighbors having intercourse.
The noise from the outside traffic was also one of the reasons I didn’t sleep. It appears the lights in the room when illuminated will blink several times which may represent some type of shortage.
At this moment at 6am I’m listening to loud running water. I’m not sure how old this building is exactly, but it’s clearly time for renovation. The best part about my stay was the COOKIE. I checked beds, Lysol everything, ziplock bag the filthy remotes, wiped down everything including doorknobs etc and it appears when I pulled back the sheets and lifted the mattress it was clean enough and also NO bed bugs spotted in Room 226. So I gave it 2 stars for that.
At first glance it APPEARS that this is a nice hotel. Location is great and it is super close to Maxwell AFB which is the reason I chose it. Those are the only pros.....
Now on to the negatives.....
The water pressure in the shower is a joke. I get they’re trying to save water by using these types of shower heads but they are horrendous. The price for parking is straight up robbery ($12 per day). This is downtown Montgomery not London. The room I got was huge and had a kitchenette with fridge and a sink but no utensils or cups. Thanks for that I suppose. The bathroom is super small and the door blocks the shower door awkwardly. Also, they air extractor was filthy. The bed and linens are fine but nothing to write about really. This hotel is LOUD. From fights breaking out in the streets to the echo of everything that’s going on outside your door, don’t expect to relax and have a peaceful stay. Some kind of school sports team was staying here on my last night and they behaved like they owned the place. I also felt unsafe by how some of the employees stared while you walked the property. I had to make a decision to avoid getting in the elevator with an employee due to his sketchy behavior. Finally, to put the cherry on top, this hotel does not do express checkout. If you want your final bill, you need to go to the front desk to get it. This is the first hotel in years where I’ve had to do this and I travel A LOT. And, of course, when I go down there their system is down and now I have to hope they actually email me my bill like they promised they would. Now, $1000 later after a week here I can see why Airbnb is killing it. I would never spend my own money to stay in a hotel like this but my job is paying for it. However, I come to Montgomery a lot for work and I will do everything I can to not have to stay here again.
