How to Get There
If the price was half of what we are paying I would give it a full 5 rating. Things I like: The shower is nice and the water gets plenty hot. The body wash and soap are excellent and they smell good. Our view of the bay from our balcony is lovely.
Problems: the bathroom door would not open last night and I was stuck in there. Thankfully my companion was on the other side to call maintenance. They had to break the door to get me out.
The shampoo and conditioner are not good. The elevators in the parking garage offer no carts for luggage. The bathroom is tiny and the room is only okay. No bar/snack service in the room and the bathroom is poorly vented.
We asked for a king but were given two queens.
For only $50 more we stayed at the Ritz in DC a few months back and that room was just on an entirely higher scale.
I would not stay here again unless it was for less money. I’ve stayed in Ramada Inns that were nicer.
We’ve been to The Grand a lot and love it. There’s plenty to do, facilities are clean, employees are helpful. The only possible downfall is some of the patrons think they’re better than you-but nothing the hotel can do:)
Beautiful property, friendly and helpful staff, gorgeous location, delicious food, fabulous rooms and amenities. This one is WORTH IT! The property is beautiful, comfortable, and has historic charm. It is close to MANY attractions, but you don't have to leave the compound to enjoy the area.
We came to Grand Hotel Years ago then moved away. We have come back and it is as wonderful as ever. We highly recommend staying here. It drips of southern hospitality. Everyone throughout the resort wants to make the visit wonderful
The hotel is located close to the downtown area of Fairhope. The town is a small ,quaint town lined with gorgeous flowers. After shopping all day and visiting their annual festival, it was time to edge our way to our elegant hotel. We were greeted by smiling faces and people wagered to please us. The day was coming to a close, so we sat on the large patio on the bay. Even though it was windy and cool, the fire pits made it possible to enjoy the scenery and other people. The piano bar was a true treasure. Some of the locals also join in on the entertainment. The rooms had the best mattresses, I've laid on in hotels. The hotel is a true gem and I highly recommend a visit.
