How to Get There
We really enjoyed our stay at The Grand Hotel. From the moment we pulled up, we felt like we were returning home. The staff is extremely friend and engaging. They were right up there with Disney employees.
Our room was very clean, even our balcony was clean. We stayed in the Spa Building. Our room was very spacious.
Nice path for walking. There is an adult pool and a family pool with a slide. Plenty of chairs and coverage around the pool. Just steps away is a small beach like area with chairs and umbrellas to rent. Just know that it is brackish water so its not as clear as the gulf.
We will be going back soon!
Just stayed there this week - back after staying there for our honeymoon 33 years ago. Hotel was nice but almost had to beg to get our room cleaned and trash removed each day. In fact, we did not even have it cleaned 2 of the 5 days we were there - running down housekeeping ourselves to get clean towels and to empty our small trash cans in the room. A USA Today was also not delivered to our room each morning as requested. Room view was nice.
Also, although they did give us a card for our anniversary, that was it - no complimentary anniversary drink, breakfast, or desert or late checkout. In fact, during our stay, we bought only 4 drinks at the pool for $10 each or $40 before tip but they were pretty watered down.
Overall the stay was good but could have been more memorable with an extra touch or two.
Stayed here with a conference, and I arrived with about 300 other people. They are very used to large crowds, so this was no problem. Great hotel. There are multiple buildings, which can be a little confusing. They have workers in golf carts that can take you and your luggage to your building. The scenery doesn't get much more beautiful, with most of the buildings having a side that faces the water. A small beach exists, with several pools. One of the pools is very large with a slide and splash pad. There is a restaurant poolside, with several other restaurants in the main building. The conference center is attached but a short walk from the main building. Staff was very friendly. The room was excellent. Clean, comfortable, and well maintained on a daily basis. I ordered room service, and it was very good. There was a rain storm (typical for the gulf) and we had to wade through water on a sidewalk to get from the conference center back to the hotel. There wasn't a covered walkway all the way to the outer buildings (that I found) so I hung out in the main lobby until it passed. Overall a great experience and I would stay again. Parking is limited, so many people use valet.
Amazing property. Went with wife for anniversary. Great restaurants, great drinks. Many activities including kayaking, biking, golf. Perfect for family vacation or romantic weekend with significant other. Highly recommend.
I’ve always heard about the Grand Hotel. This was our first visit, and it met our expectations. The service was impeccable. From the security guard who met as we arrived, to the front door mean, the front desk, the valet, the janitors, the associates at the pool, the restaurants,...... Everyone we came in contact with was great! The facilities were clean and up to date. There are activities for adults and kids, live music during the evenings, and plenty places just to sit back and relax. Definitely will be back.
