Very good but could be a bit better.

This is a very unique hotel, great views and it was awesome for socializing, it has a very large restaurant and bar which is perfect to talk to people, shoot the breeze, have a drink and relax. What I didn't find that amazing were the rooms, very normal, nothing special about the rooms and I think that with better bed linens and bathtubs this hotel would be a true jewel in the Ngorongoro.
Considering that Tanzania and Kenya produce top level coffee, I was disappointed about instant coffee in the rooms.
For the price, this is a great magnificent hotel for the price they charge, but they could make much more money out of tourists if they improved just a couple of things.
I'm happy with this hotel.

Luxury Lodge with nice view of the crater but you are restricted in the building & no animals in sight

This was a comfortable or maybe even luxury lodge with good food, great masai show, while wifi & date were both slow & on and off. You can not leave the buldign area so a little claustrophobic, with no pool but close to the crater gate. There was no net over the beds (I guess not needed here). Heat provided since it's colder in the area & coat was needed.

Great location, wonderful views of the crater, rooms very nice

My wife and I stay at the Serena Safari Lodge during our visit to the Ngorongoro Crater. The rooms were very nice, comfortable beds and very clean and the views were exceptional. Staff were very helpful. The only downside was the food. Not bad, but nothing very interesting. But they were able to accommodate my need for gluten free meals, including a box lunch
