Perfect retreat

We stayed 4 nights at Jambiani White Sands bungalows on the Southern end of Jambiani village (not to be confused with the White Sands Resort 6 km north of the village wheee the bus dropped us initially!). After a first night confusion over the room we had booked (satisfactory resolution with a free dinner!) we got our sea view room. There are 3 rooms with balconies overlooking the beach, 2 further rooms which have a sort of sea view and 5 garden view rooms. If you want to open your door at 6am to see the sunrise and to be woken by the gentle lapping of waves then this is the place.

Restaurant was fine, although we only eat dinner once as we like trying different places. WiFi good - bit patchy but hey it’s Africa! Staff friendly and rooms perfectly fine. Not a 5 star resort but it doesn’t pretend to be.

Overall it was great. Thoroughly recommended.

A nice little place

I arrived with no booking having had my booked hotel not exist. I was given the last room which is not normally rented out. Even with this being the case the room was clean and worth staying in. The restaurant has some tasty food, the staff are friendly and the location is right on the beach. A bonus...this hotel, unlike many on the coast accepts credit card. Very few others do this. Free wifi and TV's are also available

My husband and I loved this place. It is a little tricky to find, so keep your eyes out for the signs. Once we got there, it was ideal! We only stayed for 2 nights, but we wished we could have stayed longer. The bungalows are right on the beach, and it is so beautiful. Our room was right next to the restaurant, and we had wifi in our bungalow. There was plenty of space in our room, and the bathroom was very large. We had every meal at the restaurant, and there was a huge selection. The free vegetable soup is incredibly delicious. The manager set us up with a snorkling trip that was a highlight for us. We got to ride on a sailboat out to the coral reef, and we saw a ton of fish ($10 per person)! The sand is beautiful and the change of tides is dramatic. no complaints from us.

Lovely place

I stayed with my girlfriend at white sands in December of 2013. We were planing to stay 4 nights but we stayed 10. The beach is stunning and all you can do is lay back and relax. The bungalows are well constructed, comfortable and clean. A lot better than the majority of other options along the beach. Restaurante is not excellent but is good enough. Staff is very friendly. We didn't know that there were no ATM's in Jambiani so we were running out of money and the owner agreed that we ate everyday at the restaurant and we pay the bill in the last day with credit card.

Lovely and casual

Very nice casual place to stay in Jambiani. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. While the room is small it is adequate and the view makes is more that worthwhile. The proximity to the ocean is great.
