Blissful and luxurious

Branson has really got his ‘usp’ down to a fine art. This beautiful and peaceful hotel was wonderful, staff were attentive and willing to please.
Food was good, but the bread at breakfast and lunch was dry and bland.
As Brits they gave us extra fresh milk and teabags, it’s small touches like that that make the stay a home from home.
We would highly recommend it, we stayed for 5 nights which was probably enough as it is a small place but we would definitely return.

Honeymoon stay

My husband and I stayed here in Feb and had the most wonderful stay. From the moment we arrived, the manager James welcomed us warmly and Peter helped us organise our activities while we were there. The hotel and it’s setting are beautiful.
When we were there, unfortunately there were some wild fires and there was lots of smoke, however we were kept informed at all times and never felt in danger. We would recommend a stay at this hotel to anyone, and really hope we get the chance to visit again. It was our first trip to South Africa and our last stop on the trip, and it was so special. Thanks to the whole team.

Top Address in South Africa - Home Feelings

In February 2019 we visited Mont Rochelle twice for three nights each. What should we say? Our expectations were confirmed. Compared to 2018, many improvements were made in detail. All to the benefit for customers. The team - from General Manager to Service employee - convinced us again. Absolutely friendly, courteous and helpful. Last year, the "Drive for Perfection" campaign was put into practice. What is to be rated very highly is the team spirit. Everyone is there for everyone. Most of the employees were known to us. We felt at home. Mont Rochelle is always worth a visit. Thank you

Beautiful views .... service could be better

A great setting above Franschhoek with dual aspects across the town and up and down the valley. Our room (Cabernet) was great, modern and clean with a nice private outdoor seating area looking across the valley. Perfect to wake up to.
The bathroom layout was a little strange (with an open plan shower right next to the bath which made it very dangerous + the tap for the bath was so low you almost slipped every time to turn it on. I also wish in hotels they made it clear what is hot & cold!), and far too many light switches - sometimes I do wonder if people who design bathrooms & hotel rooms ever actually stay in them? Although the bathroom had lovely products!
The hotel had a great restaurant MIKO. Really delicious food. And if you get the chance go for lunch and wine tasting at their vineyard The Country House which is a 10 minute walk away. Again a really beautiful setting + more casual food.
Pool was way too hot, like a bath, and too much chlorine - which seems to be a perpetual problem in South Africa.
Not the best service for a 5* hotel - seems to be a new recurring problem in South Africa.

Nearly There

The setting of this hotel is perfect, it is surrounded by most beautiful views of countryside and mountains. The premises are also lovely with some first class staff to ensure that your stay would be memorable.Unfortunately, our dining experience failed to reach the high standard that one would have expected.
It would appear that having complained about the dinner, the management with the exception of the deputy manager took umbrage and clearly showed his feelings after the event. I would have expected a far better dining experience than I received for this nearly idyllic hotel.
