A little piece of wonder

To say our experience was anything less than phenominal would be an understatement. From our arrival to departure via Phemba airport the Diamond Mequfi team provided us with a professional experience one could come to expect from a world class resort. We were transported through the rural country side to their little piece of wonder nestled between the golden sand beachfront of the Indian Ocean and the tropic Mangala river nearby.

Our stay scheduled for 7 nights provided ample time to soak up the sun, enjoy the various adventurous activities readily available at the beachbar/watersports facility, feast on locally inspired cuisine set within the restuarant which opens to a panoramic of the surround and as the came to an end, retreat to our deluxe unit for a comfortable night's rest. It was evident from our stay that every tier of this resort operates cohesively like a well oiled machine (a product of transparent management structure and communication) to accommodate their guests with an experience to remember.

We were fortunate to meet some of the personalities which make up a small portion of the bigger team and would like to personally thank them for sharing their home with us:

Astian and Faizal-the cooking course allowed us to bring home and share Mozambican inspired dishes with friends and family. The restuarant and staff went out of their way to accommodate any request (the locally prepared sorbet's a must try)

Banana, Emidio, Perito, Jamal and Sumail-the personal yet professional dining experience, interesting stories and creative cocktails which led to evenings playing dominos and card games under the stars or a little R&R at the beach bar after kayaking in the ocean.

Amir and the watersports team-Taking us to Ngoma to meet the local families and see the traditional crafting of dwellings (with a strong following of the little ones), wind karting, snorkeling, kayaking and exploring the Mangala River. We were always met with optimism and a sense for adventure willing to be shared with anyone whom comes accross their path.

Aquina, Yasmine and the back of house staff- The attention to detail does not go unnoticed. The suite was cleaned twice daily and the sleeping quarters prepared at night time. The resort is extremely well maintained made possible only through the countless hours spent by the back of house staff working behind the scenes.

Sergio-Your grounded approach in management is clear in every facet of the resort as you work close with staff and was always ready to assist us with any queries.

We hold this experience dear to our hearts and look forward to sharing this experience with our friends and family in the near future.

Kind regards,
Timo and Carin Smit (118)

Exceptional stay at the Diamonds Mequfi
Reviewed 2 days ago

The Diamonds Mequfi Beach Resort, located on one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve experienced, surpassed all of our expectations. We were greeted at the airport by Eduardo, a representative for Diamonds Mequfi, who made the arrival and transfer process to the hotel very welcoming. Upon arrival we were greeted with warm smiles, fresh towels, refreshing drinks and our check in process was extremely efficient. The rooms are set in tranquil surroundings with emphasis placed on modern luxurious comfort that is both private, welcoming and inviting. The WiFi was efficient and reliable and the amenities in our room were vast. The views from every corner of the hotel were breathe taking. Access to the beach is easy and the beach itself is truly magnificent. We commend the Diamonds Mequfi for the exceptional gastronomic experience we enjoyed from our first day to the last. Every meal, both Á la carte and buffet was exceptional. The seafood being a favourite. My children and their dining requirements were met with ease and consideration at every meal. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and hospitable and after 14 nights spent with every need and wish catered for with care, we can say we will find it hard to match anywhere else. Being a frequent traveler to island destinations, we found Mequfi Beach unique and a destination we will return to frequently. The SPA treatments were excellent as was the equestrian centre a welcome surprise for my daughter, an avid rider who enjoyed early morning or late afternoon outrides with the manager of the equine facility. We would like to extend a special word of thanks to Emidio, Hussein, Argentina & Perito for the extra consideration of our families comfort and their dedicated care to the children’s requirements. This five star hotel is very welcoming to their young guests. Overall, an exceptional experience in the very beautiful Mozambican town of Cabo Delgado Pemba at the magnificent Diamonds Mequfi. We look forward to returning soon.

A fantastic hotel, equipped with wonderful and friendly staff, a "public" beach which was more tranquil and intimate than any I've ever visited, good good and drinks offering (bar an initial wine which was appalling and quickly rescinded post feedback). Would happily travel all the way back!
