Perched in the foothills of Morocco’s picturesque Atlas Mountains, Sir Richard Branson’s Kasbah Tamadot is a true dream destination. With its spectacular pools, gardens and courtyards, and its close proximity to quaint villages and the city of Marrakech, this award-winning luxury hotel guarantees a once-in-a-lifetime trip that combines sublime relaxation with rich cultural experiences.
The sumptuous rooms are beautifully decorated, with antique furnishings from around the world and perfectly color-coordinated upholstery. Bright, spacious and airy, they sport stunning views of the rich natural landscape. But if you had more in mind than simply unwinding amid jaw-dropping scenery, there are plenty of adventures to be had here, as well, from excursions to Marrakech and the village of Armed to cooking courses to community-based volunteering projects.
Each accommodation at Kasbah Tamadot is individually decorated with traditional Moroccan antiques and furnishings, plus items from the collection of the property’s previous owner, an acclaimed interior designer and antiques dealer. There are seven Deluxe rooms, all of which boast a balcony or terrace and offer views of either the mountains, pool or garden. The four Superior rooms are generally larger than the Deluxe rooms and come complete with a private terrace or balcony, plus an open-plan sitting area.
Taste traditional and international dishes at Kanoun Restaurant, which has lovely views, as well as an intimate fireside bar for cocktails before dinner. You’ll find elegant and exotic options, ranging from pan-seared sea bream and lamb tagine to saffron lasagne and pigeon pastilla. Swim up to the pool bar for an extra bit of daytime indulgence.
Spoil yourself with a session or two at Asounfou Spa, which offers nourishing treatments, lovely rose facials and full body massages. For an authentic experience, try the traditional Moroccan hammam, from which you’ll emerge totally relaxed.
Kasbah Tamadot is surrounded by Morocco’s beautiful Atlas Mountains, which you can explore with mule and camel treks, mountain biking and even hot-air ballooning. Take in the richness and beauty of Berber villages and countryside in the small town of Asni, or edge out to discover Imlil’s quaint architecture and Marrakech’s busy markets.
How to Get There
An absolutely stunning resort, eclectically designed with a stunning pool area. Beautiful mountain views, tennis courts, gardens and hiking trails. Lovely terrace for breakfast and afternoon cocktails. Excellent rooftop restaurant with clear night sky views. The service is truly fantastic. We stayed in one of the Berber tents with private deck and hot tub which was a unique experience. I find it hard to think of a way to improve this experience.
OK, so I didn't stay here but wanted to reflect what I did experience. Basically, a berber guide of ours has a friend on staff who gave us a little tour round. It looks quite modest from the outside but it is anything but. It is stunning in every way. The pool area is beautiful and the view from the lounge deck simple amazing. I am now going to start saving...
Probably the most amazing place I have ever visited. Terrific location - you walk outside the Kasbah and you can immediately begin trekking in the Atlas Mountains . The Berber people are so friendly and welcoming. Great food and drink and hospitality of the staff is magnificent. Ideal for a very special occasion.
Wow, amazing and awesome come to mind, but those words to not do this place justice. The property was amazing, clearly one of the better places i have stayed. The gardens were beautiful. The gardens had peacocks, ducks, turtles just to mention a few. The view from the tents were awesome and you are surrounded by the sounds of nature running water and animals. Take in a movie poolside. The food was good but the service was even better! the hospitality of the Berber people comes shinning thru. The staff spoils you! let them, you are in paradise! If there was a downside the Jacuzzi did not get hot enough. Love the no cell phones while eating.
We came for a mother daughter holiday and where overwhelmed by the friendliness of the staff !
The place and the surroundings are spectacular , the food is awesome but what really contributes to the spirit of the place are the people working there
The concept of combining a luxury hotel with creating job opportunities for the locals is phantastic.
A great spirit you rarely find these days!
We hope to retun in the near future and convince friends to go and indulge as well
