Wow, just wow...

As big Banyan Tree fans, we were excited to experience Morocco "Banyan Style." We were not disappointed! The physical property is magnificent, perched right on the Mediterranean. Public spaces are immaculate, and the beach and pool areas are top shelf. The villas themselves are enormous--very large bathroom with soaking tub, king bedroom and sitting room. There is even an (unnecessary) kitchenette. The outdoor space contains a plunge pool, hot tub (which was not hot!), loungers and seating areas. The backyard space is almost as big as the villa.

The spa experience is one of the best I've had. My skin is still smooth...The aesthetician was fantastic. Unfortunately, there is charge even if you simply want to experience the pool/saunas/rain room. At this price point, shouldn't this amenity be included?

The food was good-plus, not sensational. The breakfast buffet was passable; again, at this price point it should be better. Saffron was better than Tingitana. Because we visited off season, the beachside restaurant, Azura, was only open for lunch. My suggestion would be to rotate the three restaurants, so you do not have to repeat meals.

The hotel arranged two excursions for us, each with a driver, guide and lunch. Tetouan was terrific. Our guide Hamid, whose English is okay at best, was delightful and the lunch terrific. Chefchaouen (the Blue City) is much more touristy and unfortunately our guide was just awful and the lunch just so-so.

The service at the hotel is excellent--Lotfi at the front desk, Omar in Saffron and Ali in Tingitana were standouts, though everyone was wonderful. Be advised that English is perhaps the FORTH language spoken, Arabic, Spanish and French being more prevalent. While this was not problematic, not everyone is conversant.

Bottom line: The Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay is a hidden gem. It is not easy to get to: the resort is a 90-minute drive from the Tangier airport, and we understand the traffic during the high season is unbearable. As there was not a non-stop from New York, we transited through Madrid. Suffice to say, it's a full day of travel! Additionally, the lack of dining options (going off-campus is easier said than done) may be an issue for some. All that said, it was a fantastic experience...

Great place but a lot of room for improvement.

Nice calm and beautiful property , however no value given to President club member or Accor members at check in process. Check in should be more seamless.
For trips in october it would be great to have heated pools.
They don't carry local currency to be exchanged for euro or dollars. More activities would be nice to have at the resort and also no offer to tour the property and available actives was provided.

bad experience

nice place yet the villa had old furniture and uncomfortable and the food was bad over all didnt meet my expectations
the furniture should be changed and the beds in the 2 room villa should be more comfortable they were terrible and too small.
