How to Get There
Again we are back to LGG. We feel at home within this incredicle resort. Actually we are having diner at the Palm Court and as always plenty of good food. I would like to say a special thank you to Mr Ashwin from the restaurant and Mr David from the front office for their warm welcome and hospitality during our stay. Also thanks Mr Sandeep who did the needful to find a beautiful room for us despite our late booking. We are going back home tomorrow but we shall be back soon.
Incredible place, the best service in the world and all facilities you wish for.
Lux Grand Gaube is the place to be for an amazing holiday.
The food is amazing, the venue is beautiful and all people are a true blessing.
Always a smile, always happy to celebrate life with you.
They are there for you at the beach, at the gym, the spa, in the lobby and do not forget about the cleaners.
During your stay on the beach you will meet the famous man with the hat: Reedoo. A special thanks to you beautiful soul. Do not forget to join the nature walk with love for the nature itself: Mario. Thank you so much for your knowledge and fresh coconuts.
We will definitely come back soon.
Special thanks to all of you over there.
What can I say about this brand new refurbished hotel? When we stepped out of our car, we knew we were in paradise. If you are making a trip to Mauritius, this is 100% the resort to visit. The interiors are all designed by Kelly Hoppen and each corner, everywhere you look there is something worth posting on instagram! The restaurants are so beautiful and make you feel like you really are dining in luxury. The neat clean white effect with complimenting colours is just so refreshing and just what you need for a holiday. Nothing I can say can really do the resort justice - you just have to see it to believe it.
We went all inclusive and sometimes this can mean the quality of food suffers. Well not here! The main buffet restaurant had a fantastic variety of foods. The live cooking stations were fantastic. My only very minor criticism would be that it would be good if they could perhaps change what is on the live cooking stations once in a while. The English scotch egg / quiche section also got a bit boring. I would love to see Mexican food there such as quesadillas and burritos or decent guacamole and nachos. It would also be nice to have more American cuisine such as macaroni cheese, ribs etc.
The Bodrum Blue / Beach Rouge and Burger joint had delicious good quality food. The chefs were fantastic and so accommodating as we were unable to eat beef due to religious reasons. They asked if we could let them know in advance and they made lamb burgers for us which was delicious!! This is the same for Bodrum Blue. Again my only criticism is when you are all inclusive it felt like we were running out of options as the menus were not extensive. It would be good if they rotated menus every week or added a few more dishes. I personally wasn't a massive fan of the Creole House but the setting is stunning and so unique and other guests loved the food.
We stayed in the adult zone and on the adults only beach and pool which was stunning. The swing beds were fantastic and it was always very easy to find a sunbed any time of the day. It was very peaceful and quiet, particularly when the sea was tranquil. The French Kiss bar is great, it would be fantastic if it stayed open a bit later for residents who don't want to stay back at Palm Court.
Now for the staff which ultimately make this resort what it is. It has been 3 months since I have been and I am kicking myself for not making a list of the names. Everyone, absolutely everyone was brilliant. You were made to feel like royalty and the level of hospitality was just out of this world.
David at reception. He was the star of the resort. Anything we needed he sorted out in terms of dietary requirements etc. He also arranged for a screening of the Liverpool match in the cinema for my husband which really made his day. The cinema was incredible and better than some cinemas in London.
Reedoo on the main beach always greeted us the moment he saw us coming and arranged for sun beds to be set up beautifully for us in the shade. He would arrange for snacks and drinks to be delivered very promptly. When he found out it was our birthdays he arranged for a lovely flower display and shout out on the beach, which was a lovely surprising gesture.
Rishi on the adult beach was so hard working and made sure that drinks were constantly flowing for us. He made our stay on the adult pool side so relaxing and very indulging because we never needed to get up!
Hassan from Beach Rouge was also fantastic and moved our tables around whenever we wanted the shade!
I miss this resort so much and cannot wait to return.
My husband and I returned from another 3 week stay at Lux Grand Gaube on 29th June. This was our 5th visit to this hotel and we were there to celebrate our Golden Wedding. We were greeted with open arms when we arrived by Sandeep and Elena. We were upgraded to a Romantic Junior Suite and the hotel had arranged for us to renew our vows whilst we were there. We had an amazing day, everything was perfect. A big thank you to Nitisha, Elena and to Stephan who officiated. Raj the hotel photographer took some great photos and a drone video of us walking along the beach. In the evening we had a romantic meal around the pool. We were looked after like royalty.
We love the new look of the hotel, very fresh and light and the restaurants are amazing, brilliant food and wine. Bodrum Blue has a great comfortable atmosphere, thank you to Fred, Shameen and all the staff there for looking after us so well. The Palm Court is brilliant with its open cooking stations and so many choices of food. Great so meet up with Diren, Ramsammy, Nikesh, Hassen and Jean-Phillipe again who gave us such great service along with Chiitra who made super salads and Nadege our favourite omelette maker. Beach Rouge is great for both lunch and dinner, lovely to see Natalie again. The Creole Smoke House was good for lunch, nice and cool under the banyan tree, thanks to Utam for his service. Cafe Lux was a favourite for coffee and my delicious Oreo milkshake. Karuna, Nuha, Selvina and
Satish were always smiling and happy to serve.
Thank you to Reedo and his team, Kumar, Jordy, Veer, Anoop for looking after us on the beach and bringing us our Pimms after our daily trip out on the pedals. Also great to see Naiken again who was on the adults only beach.
We went to Cinema Paradiso the cinema under stars it was a beautiful clear evening and a great experience.
The new Spa is lovely and we had several massages whilst there. Sun is always smiling and welcoming when we go and the treatments by the two Balinese girls Ketut and Myra were wonderful.
Our evening Room Maid, Vanessa, who we have had 3 years running is lovely, every evening we came back to amazing flower and towel displays . She is so pleasant and friendly.
We had a brilliant holiday and look forward to returning again soon.
We stayed at the Lux Grand Gaube for our honeymoon for just under two weeks in late June. We'd read so many gushing reviews about this resort before we left, so we had very high expectations. Our experience at the Lux exceeded every single one of them!
Every small detail of this place has been immaculately designed and executed. The rooms are luxurious, modern and are equipped with the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in. There are so many great little spots all around the resort, from the various bars where you can enjoy live music and socialise, to little private nooks where you can share a quiet moment with your partner. Whatever you're looking for in your holiday, you're almost certain to find it here.
The food is uniformly of excellent standard. While every restaurant offers food which is delicious, hearty and lovingly prepared, the signature restaurant Inti is absolutely world class. The ceviche alone is worth coming back for! The Gin bar (G&T100) is also a stand-out. Vishnu kept us enthralled for hours with his amazingly creative gin concoctions and great conversation. Truly, our nights spent at G&T100 were one of the highlights of our trip!
The beach and surrounds are beautiful and pristine. All water activities are included free of charge, including kayaks, sailing, glass-bottom boat trips and even water-skiing. A big thank-you to Dylan for being such a great instructor as well as for the hilarious anecdotes! There are different activities organised every day, so there is always plenty to do. We especially recommend the towel origami class. So much fun!
As many of the other reviews have indicated, it's the people that make the Lux Grand Gaube so special. Every person we spoke to was so friendly and genuine. A huge thank-you to Ida, Thana and Sandeep at reception for looking after us so well throughout our stay. Equally big thanks to Andy, Emmanuel, Fabrice and Kenny for the great beach soccer sessions. To Karuna, Selvina and Satish for the delicious coffees. To Nilesh at Inti and to Avi at the main pool for being so friendly and always making sure we had everything we needed. Also, a big thank you (dziękuję!) to Sun at the Lux*Me Spa.
Finally, a special thank-you to our night maid, Raksha. It was always so nice coming home to a new piece of beautiful towel origami and handwritten note.
Without a doubt, we will remember our time at Lux for years to come. If you are considering booking a holiday here, we guarantee you will not regret it!
