Fronting Soma Bay on the Red Sea, this Egyptian Kempinski outpost blends seamlessly into the arid landscape and wows guests with its ornate pillars, arches and expansive lagoon-style pool complex, which includes a lazy river flanked by inviting sunbeds. But here, the main attraction is the 1,312-foot private beach that’s dotted with palm trees, loungers and umbrellas. When hunger strikes, there are three restaurants to choose from that serve Mediterranean, Asian and Egyptian cuisine. And if you’re craving a libation, the outdoor Beachcomber Bar shakes up crafty drinks such as Arabic lemonade (fresh lime, fresh mint and sugar syrup). Elsewhere, the enormous 51,667-square-foot spa (one of the largest in the world) provides relaxation with Swedish treatments and underwater massages. All 291 guestrooms have garden or water views with Moorish architectural touches, tile floors and wood furniture; some have private balconies.
In the Area
Connected to the outside world by only a few paved roads, Safaga is a Red Sea town that brings coastal seclusion to a whole new level. With the resort’s lineup of restaurants and relaxation (waterview terrace dining and a 51,667-square-foot spa), stepping off-property might be tough. But anchor an afternoon with 7BFT Kitehouse and its flatwater Soma Bay kitesurfing that caters to professionals and beginners alike. Jump further in at Orca Dive Center, and take in the sanctity of jetty-launched inner and outer reefs. And for some land activities, 18 holes of Gary Player-designed golf beckon at Cascades Soma Bay.
How to Get There
Excellent food and scenery. However, it is not recommended for families with kids. The kids activities and entertainment in general were very poor and you can easily get bored after sunset.
I would highly recommend that they give more attention to the animation and family facilities in general.
This hotel is very luxurious , clean and staff were so nice .
Food is so good and wide variety suitable for all whether you are vegan or meat lover.
I highly recommend it.
My family really liked it so much
We had a truly wonderful stay at the hotel. Beside the beautiful and exceptionally spotless resort it was the team‘s tremednous kidness which really made this stay so great. The staff worked as a team together and have been delivering a 5 star experience at any time.
The facilities at the Hotel are amazing and offer you a wide range of activities. Especially the guided snorkeling trips with a boat to the big riffs outside were terrific. They even have a "house riff" where you can just swim too.
We did a lot of Kitesurfing and the hotels location is just perfect for that.
The Sunset beach arrangements they offer a view times a week are just great as well as the beach dinner.
We will definitely come back!
