Art Deco meets Belle Epoque excess at this grande dame on the western bank of the Nile. After a day soaking up centuries of culture or cruising down the ancient river, get open-air R&R by the resort’s pool — perhaps with a local liqueur in hand. Six on-site restaurants serve everything from Lebanese delicacies to Egyptian-honeycomb-drizzled feteer. Balinese inspiration strikes during essential-oil treatments at the spa (or in-room). French Empire-style furnishings and marble bathrooms add a sense of grandeur in the guestrooms, which have mod-cons like 42-inch LCD TVs, DVD players, Bose sound systems and soaking tubs.
In the Area
Take an evening cruise down the Nile on one of the hotel’s boats, which were inspired by ancient pharaonic papyrus boats and include live music and belly dancing. You’re just a quick walk from the Egyptian Museum and the 80-acre Giza Zoo, which houses countless endangered species including the first California sea lion born in the Mid-East. Almost 4,000 years old, the 500-foot Great Pyramid of Giza turns heads as the most storied of the world’s Seven Wonders. The First Mall brings you (and your wardrobe) to the modern day with 300 International storefronts and scheduled fashion nights highlighting young Egyptian designers.
How to Get There
Our stay here was fantastic! It was unnerving to pull up and have the car sniffed for bombs, to have our bags scanned just to get in...but when you think about it, that all adds to the safety and the comfort that we felt while staying here. The facility was immaculate! The staff exceptional! The room was incredible! Try to get a room on an upper floor. I would struggle to pay for a pyramid view...yes you could make out the outline of the pyramids...but the smog makes it virtually impossible to see for the most of the day. Food onsite makes it where you really do not need to leave to get anything you need. We would absolutely stay here again.
Another wonderful stay at our most favorite hotel in the world. We spent 11 days this time here. Enjoyed every minute of it. The staff are exceptional, the reception , the pool area, the breakfast lounge, our room each and everyone of them went beyond the call of duty. They made us feel so special and at home.
On the last day of our stay November 4th we had a family emergency, Ebeid and Tamer at the front desk, were so helpful, We cannot thank them enough. They gave us so much support and upon our return from the hospital they were so caring. We are grateful to them. Our family member is doing well now, we feel it is partly due to how they jumped to action and helped us. Thank you so much! We are forever grateful.
Four Seasons in Giza is our home away from home, for the past twenty years we have stayed there on our yearly visit to Egypt. It gets better with every stay, if this is possible, it is really perfect. We love it and appreciate its excellent staff. It is an AMAZING place to stay!
A little bit late, but better later than never. The Four Seasons Cairo at First Residence is on par with FS expected level. This may seem an understatement, however after being in other “luxury hotels” around Egypt, the place truly exceeds what it could be found in other higher end properties in the African Nation.
The rooms are uber clean, the personal is very professional. We were carrying out our luggage, and the persona who was cleaning a mirror left his activities to help us. That is just the how customer-centric this place is.
We had the pleasure to interact with Mr. Reda and Mr. Marcus. It was wonderful and we got an insight of how FS achieves for more. We stayed twice during our travel to Egypt and the second time was even better than the first time.
Our breakfast there was the best in all our lodging in Egypt. It was a real treat and the place was just beautiful.
For sure we would love to be back.
