Overview

The Lowdown

When Anantara’s first hotel in Oman opened in 2016 on the edge of the rocky Saiq Plateau, it became the highest five-star hotel in the Middle East—and, instantaneously, one of the best cliffside hotels in the world. Of the 115 accommodations, the Cliff Pool Villas feature private infinity pools that jut out precariously over the mountain rim, 6,500 feet above sea level. There’s a public infinity pool for everyone else; when not taking a dip or chowing down on Omani and international cuisine at own of the resort’s six restaurants, head to the spa for decadent treatments, to the kitchen for a cooking class, or to the Hajar mountain range for a heart-pumping climb.

Beautifully Appointed Rooms - Stunning Views - Best Food in Oman
Reviewed 2 days ago

Absolutely glorious property. Stunning views over the mountains with awesome sunsets and sunrises. The rooms are beautifully appointed with lovely amenities and a soap menu. The food was the absolutely best I've had in a long time and definitely the best in Oman. You will love the ambiance of the place and the staff are all excellent. Service is exceptional. The spa is also well worth a visit!
I am extremely picky and could not find fault with this lovely resort.

Amazing!

The Anantara lives up to it’s name, as usual! From arrival and check-in (and an upgrade to a beautiful Mountain View) to the wonderful restaurants this hotel has it all. The staff was kind enough to arrange travel for us to hike in the mountains and the endless horizon pool was so refreshing with the most beautiful view. The Bella Vista Italian restaurant was perfect with fresh fish while enjoying the mountain air and a stunning view over the canyon. I especially appreciated the personal service from Devaraj Sharma and Anup Sharma who went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent experience.

Additionally, the morning Yoga was a perfect way to start the day and the Yogi was very good! This is my second visit and I’m looking forward to my next.

Every thing was amazing. The villa is spacious and having big windows with your private pool view. The Meals was amazing. The Kids Club had a lot of activities for kids. The kids enjoyed the bicycle rides around the resort.

Perfect escape

If you like naked mountain sunset and perfect temperature in summer, this is the place, very friendly stuff and family welcoming. Perfect view from all restaurants. Panoramic view from swimming pool. Very fresh breakfast

Great Family Staycation and Super Friendly Staff

If you want to escape the summer heat, this mountain resort should be on top of the list. The hotel has so many activities for kids and adults, very well trained employees, and a top notch Spa. The pool is temperature controlled as water gets cold at 2000m. We stayed in the one-bedroom villa with private pool. The view from the observatory deck is breathtaking. Don't miss the sunset there!
