Teton Springs Lodge & Spa suits every type of winter sports fan, whether you’re looking to shred powder on the slopes, find confidence on the bunny slopes or go all out with an extreme heli-skiing adventure. Equidistant from Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee, the lodge is surrounded by rugged peaks and big sky in the heart of the Teton Valley, but the pristine locale isn’t the lodge’s only asset. Native polished wood blends with rough-hewn stone to create a modern log cabin style that's as good-looking on the inside as the Rocky Mountain vistas outside.

              What we love

              • The gorgeous location, ideal for trying multiple winter sports
              • Rocky Mountain views from the big balconies in rooms and suites
              • The soaring pitched roof and giant stone fireplace of the log cabin–style lobby
              • Walking out to the heli-ski pad right outside the property
              • Spacious suites with fully equipped kitchens, which can be stocked with 72 hours notice
              • Young children can join the Powder Scouts kids club at Grand Targhee resort

              What to know

              • Three-night minimum for renting the four-bedroom luxury cabin
              • Transfers to Jackson Hole must be arranged with the hotel and cost roughly $80, each way
              • There is a shuttle from the hotel to Grand Targhee resort that is about $50 one-way for up to four people
              • There are four restaurants in the town of Victor, two miles away
              • No roll-away beds are available

              Why to go

              • Adventure
              • Relaxed
              • Elegant

              Teton Springs Lodge & Spa

              Jetsetter review

For skiers who love the challenging Jackson Hole slopes but want to get away from the crowds in the evening, the Teton Springs Lodge & Spa is a great option. Located just over the rugged Teton Pass into Idaho, the log cabin–style retreat sits on 780 acres of land surrounded by the verdant green of Targhee National Forest, soaring snowcapped peaks and an endless blue sky. It’s still just 25 minutes from Wyoming’s star resort and even closer to the world-class slopes of Grand Targhee.

Take in the beautiful Rocky Mountain scenery from the private balconies of Deluxe Lodge rooms.
Brimming with elegant but casual mountain charm, the hotel’s main lodge has 52 rooms and suites of varying sizes, all featuring decor that mixes Native American and Wild West cowboy art. The abundance of polished wood, earth-toned walls and local photography creates a homey ambience that sits well in a Rocky Mountain retreat like this one.

The wood-framed beds are made up with soft Italian cotton sheets and micro-plus Denali throws, while the bathrooms have whirlpool bathtubs for relaxing after a long day of skiing. The large suites are made even more inviting with stone fireplaces and big comfy chairs in the separate living area. There are also outdoor decks for taking in the pink and purple mountain sunsets.

Bigger groups can book the large four-bedroom cabins (there's a three-night minimum stay) dotted around the property. Like suites in the main lodge, these wooden cabins reflect the area’s pioneer and Native American heritage with western decor and those ubiquitous lake and mountain views.

My favorite part of a Teton Springs vacation however, is not what you find inside but the mountain adventures outside. In addition to the “white gold” powder at Grand Targhee and the country’s longest vertical-drop run at Jackson Hole, guests can also try their hand at heli-skiing. Teton Springs Lodge & Spa partners with a local company to organize daytrips in the challenging Teton backcountry directly from the lodge’s front door.

              What to do

              • Heli-Ski the Teton Backcountry. The ultimate backcountry powder experience, heli-skiing is not for the faint of heart, but experienced riders will thrill at cutting fresh tracks through mountainside glades. The lodge partners with High Mountain Heli-Skiing to run the daylong adventures, with pickup at your front door.
              • Après-Slopes Treatments at Stillwaters Spa. The 5,000-square-foot Stillwaters Spa offers everything from reflexology and aromatherapy to après-ski facials and deep tissue massages. It even has a 2-person therapy suite with a fireplace.
              • Fireside Dining at Headwaters Grille. Warm up after a day on the slopes with cocktails and a quiet meal by the fire at Headwaters Grille, next door to the resort.
              • Champagne Powder at Grand Targhee. On the western slope of the Tetons, Grand Targhee is famous for wide open terrain, incredible scenery and plentiful snow.
              • Jump Rocky Ledges at Jackson Hole. Home the country’s greatest continuous vertical drop (from the 10,450-foot summit of Rendezvous Mountain to the 6,311-foot base at Teton Village), Jackson Hole is an advanced rider’s dream.
